The new owners really turned this place and the service around - Good selection, good donuts and especially croissants friendly service. Good spot to walk to on a weekend morning. The only potential downside is that the couple that owns it are the only people behind the counter and when the store is full, things can take a bit... I don't mind - when I have the time to walk there I can spare a couple of minutes to pick up breakfast.”

“It's a good ShopRite. They have the quality of a rich suburban ShopRite with the selection of a multiethnic city ShopRite. They have some of the best produce in the area, better than the stop and shop in nearby Bloomfield. They have a wonderful bakery with great staff. My wife and I go there for special occasion cakes and Sunday dinner rolls or bagels. However, if you want the rolls and bagels you have to come in early because most of them are gone by noon. They have a convenient underground parking area, and are next to a liquor/lottery place and a pizza Hut, so that is convenient too.”

“I drove by Zaza last night and decided to turn the car around and give it a try after reading the google reviews. I was greeted by a friendly cashier (I think Grethel?) who made me feel very welcome. The aroma was very inviting...strong Cuban coffee with delicious food cooking in the background. Cuban sandwich with plantains - delicious! Sometimes when you get a Cuban the bread is so toasted it cuts your mouth. This bread was soft and very enjoyable, and the flavors of the sandwich were on point. The plantains were great! I ordered black beans and rice for my husband. He ate the entire bowl and raves about the flavor, and he isn’t easily impressed. We also tried all of the empanadas - beef, chicken, and ham & cheese. These were so tasty! I will definitely be taking the whole family back to Zaza so we can try some new things next time. Highly recommend. Please support small business!”

“Came in right at 7:30am after a run on Mt. Tabor and it did not disappoint. Buckwheat breakfast muffin = like a muffin form of delicious Cracklin Oat Bran. Chocolate cookie with some sort of millet or little seeds in it? Absolutely delicious. Others in my group got avocado toast and the breakfast sandwich. While maybe a little higher priced than I prefer for just a sandwich, it was delicious (red wheat biscuit). There was not a kids play area but there were books and a few toys. We loved watching the bakers work the oven! Will be back.”
