“Awesome little bakery that includes breakfast and lunch items along with your typical Mexican sweet breads. The tamales are exceptional. I tried the chicken (pollo con papas y chili) and the corn tamale (elote). I was surprised to find out my chicken tamale was also stuffed with potatoes and green chilies since they simply tell you it's a pollo tamale. That was such an awesome deal! They were 2/$5 and they were available pretty early in the morning, I think around 10 am. The masa (flour) was beautifully well-done. Soft and moist on the inside while maintaining a firm texture. Salted perfectly. Chicken had awesome flavor. Potatoes were firm and the way they were cooked matched the texture of the chicken and chilies delightfully. I haven't tried the other offerings at Continental but I would gladly go back. The ladies behind the counter were so very kind to the customers, too! I loved it and hope to return soon.”

“The staff here is always so nice. They are the standout by far! We have several coffee options in this area and Aroma Joe's consistently has the nicest staff. The coffee and specialty drinks are great, and I personally appreciate that they offer so many sugar-free syrup options. I haven't personally tried any food or pastries, but I purchased a glazed donut during my last visit for a coworker and they were very pleased with the donut! Their prices are so much better than all their competitors as well. I purchased a large black coffee, a medium iced coffee with oat milk and three different syrups, a holiday flavor latte and a glazed donut for $12 and change. That would cost well over $20 at other places.”

For example, only the Strawberry Smoothie is served here. And the tables are not frequently cleaned. 10/31/2017 Update- tried the labor-intensive Limited Time Zombie Frappuccino for Halloween. Cool thing is the barista is upfront that it takes longer for her to make one of these. If you aren't in a hurry, good place to order one compared to a standard Starbucks because both the barista and other customers as we are all waiting do spend time happily chatting and socializing about the drink, what it is made off and what does it taste like. 11/17/2017 Update-this place has high chairs! “Came here for the coffee stayed for the breakfast! Been coming here for a while and the food is always on point. This time the place was more busier than my previous visits, but that was ok, as our food came out on time and hot. The coolest thing about Brooklyn Water Bagel is their iced coffee, which unlike other cafes they freeze their coffee into cubes, that way your coffee tastes the same as time passes by and not watered down. The coffee was self served so there were many flavors to choose from. I had the dark roast with the bourbon pecan creamer, and it was sweet. Definitely a new favorite flavor. For breakfast I had the asiago bagel with a cheese omelette made with tomatoes mushrooms and spinach, yummy in taste and healthy. Gf had an omelette too with some avocados and an everything bagel. She enjoyed her breakfast very much so. If you’re looking to have a unique breakfast experience Brooklyn Water Bagel is the place to be!”
