“Amazing location. The fire circle is impressive. Lots of excellent camping sites, good cabins, and impressive wind. Every time I'm here, I remember the opening scene in The Wizard of Oz, and it makes sense that such severe weather was characterized in Kansas.”

“Variety of sizes at individual sites. Showers require tokens-available at machine by the bathrooms. Friendly ranger at check-in. We did not have a reservation so the ranger had us drive through and pick a few we liked then return to see if they were available to book.”

“Thank you Chris for a wonderful stay. Everyone was very friendly, and other than trains in the distance was very peaceful and quiet. I heard the trains when I was outside, not inside my camper and was told this was a train community so I knew what I was getting into. Bath house - restroom needs some attention. Bugs were a little bad at sunset and lots were all grass. Also had an issue, with water hose. Initially worked fine, then about 3-4 days in lost all water pressure. Pulled hose from camper and inlet screen was completed covered with brown foreign substance. Removed and went to purchase filter from Walmart. By the time I returned, screen was about 75% covered again. After installing filter, never had problem again. Was there for about 1 month. When I left, I checked the inlet screen on filter and camper and had no substance - perhaps was in the water hose itself.”

“What a great little KOA!! Really big sites, super dog friendly with a really nice sized dog run, great pool area and really friendly staff. Yes the freeway is nearby so there is a little bit of road noise...but you get that to be conveniently located to a lot of Orlando attractions. Would definitely recommend and would stay here again.”

“Peaceful. Then in the distance I heard a cricket, and then like a wave the sound of thousands of crickets came in my direction. And then just like it began, there was silence again.”

“I love stopping off while paddling up and down the run. The run gets 5 stars, but the campsite less so. It is the best site along the run. Fire ring, benches, and a bear/ critter box for food and garbage storage overnight. Cons are the campsite is mostly dirt with sweet gum seed pods all over (i.e. spiny) making it difficult to find a nice place for a tent. Also, people need to learn to burry their toilet paper as a few feet into the woods in any direction is covered in used TP.”

“Been staying here for a few months and loving it! Best rates anywhere in Vegas and other states we've been in. Very clean bathrooms and showers and laundry room. Also a nice clubhouse with pool table and wifi and a pool. Staff is friendly and helpful and security keeps it safe! Highly recommend staying here! Won't stay anywhere else when in Vegas!”

“The setting for this recreation area is sublime. Stunningly beautiful. It says Campground, but I'm not so sure. Definitely not overnight, that much I do know. I'll edit this when I go down there and find out more information. I've known some of the Rangers for years.”

“This is a fun place to visit and a favorite camping spot of ours within a short driving distance of Fredericksburg. The camp grounds are clean and wooded. In the summer there is a beach and pool for swimming. In my opinion the best part of the park is Fossil Beach and the hike thereto. Located on the banks of the Potomac, the beach is a great place to look (and often find) fossilized shark teeth. The hike to the beach is a little under a mile in length and provides good bird watching opportunities in the spring.”

One of my favorites for an early dinner and drink or a lunch with my parents. Highly recommend the fish tacos and the chicken wings.”

“Nice shelter right next to a parking lot. This is great for when you want to do a little camping but want easy access so you can lug food or firewood you normally wouldn't when you're doing some proper backpacking. The shelter has always been clean when I've been there. There's some overflow camp tent pads nearby but they are kind of annoying to pitch in and are on a slope.”
