Found Steve's via great reviews on multiple websites and was able to get the car in and have them check it out. Steve's told me some interesting details about the car that gave me pause and required further conversations with the seller. As a result, I now also have a less than positive opinion about that particular seller. The moral of this story is that Steve's Auto Service didn't know me when I walked in the door but they provided me with great, honest service that potentially saved me a bunch of money. Everyone else lied to me and tried to sell me new tires. Sal actually helped me and was one of the realest and most honestly people I’ve ever met. He could’ve easily taken advantage of me like everyone else tried to but he was a good human and helped me out tremendously. He gave honest advice and mentioned I needed my front tires fixed too and he could help me out whenever I was ready to come back. What a nice guy. He turned my unlucky day into a truly lucky one. “I am a vintage person, and have driven vintage cars, the last 20+ yrs. First went to Desert Automotive over 14 yrs ago, to rent a U Haul, and was at that time impressed--while only renting the truck, was treated like I was one of their best clients (they treat all clients, like they are the best) they were busy, but having rented in past (w/others) -never was treated with the respect I was shown that day. I have used their automotive service on 3 occasions, it the last 14 yrs. 3 different cars in all that time. First time, the same customer service, cost was less than others had told me, told me after first check up that might be a few days, up front with that all the time, which was fine with me - might add that they are always busy and guess the word has gotten around. They told me "We don't want you walking" another bonus - they meant it- gave me a ride and p/u ride each time, so they really meant it when said don't want you walking. Can not say enough about the auto service on car, and the care for the client, was with me on all issues, and the cost, explained ( I needed that) everything. Was also pleased and a bit surprised, to see the same people, in office and other mechanics in shop, as had 14 years ago. If the same people are there after 14 years, it has meaning a lot of meaning. They are good at their job, and they work in a place where everything is respected, Customers, and all those that work with you. If not good, they would not be there. You will never do wrong, to check them out, I remember as they said "we don't want you walking" Have my truck back, (fri) working great and I am not walking anymore.”
