“Our project was granite worktops for a new kitchen. The level of craftsmanship and attention to detail was impossible to fault. Unfortunately I have to dock a star as this attention to detail generated specific requirements that had to be followed through by others working on the kitchen installation notably the builder and the kitchen installer. As they were under my control it meant I became the interface between them all which ended up being time consuming and stressful. They did not seem to easily accept the things they were being asked to do. But then ironically, during the installation of the granite, there was a lack of attention to detail leading to two significant issues a) the kitchen installer had not sufficiently cut away the rear of the sink cabinet to allow the overflow to be fitted. The sink is taken away as part of the templating and does not come back until the day of installation and so the problem would only have been noticed during the worktop installation which was on a day when the builder and kitchen installer were not there. This problem was not spotted and therefore not corrected and the granite was installed. It then presented a huge problem to the plumber to install the sink. b) some days later my kitchen installer needed to lower the height of the dishwasher, which was in place when the granite went in, to find that an excess of silicone sealant around the sink had stuck the granite to the top of the dishwasher. It was not easy for him to separate the two. So looks great now but not an experience I would look to repeat in a hurry. Fortunately I don’t anticipate a need to.”
