“The Alden House was one of the best historical home/building museum tours we've seen in a week's worth of sightseeing. Short but engaging, entertaining, and informative. A window into our country's earliest history. Highly recommended.”

“This place is really a spring. The cool water comes up right into the swimming area. There are steps into the water, and it's nicely done with walls on some side. There is also a favorite restaurant where you can cook your own pancakes at your table.”

“Fabulous experience. Server Mike was so attentive and cheerful! The food was perfect. Crab legs special on Sunday for $17.99 was delicious and such a good value. We loved the ambiance- the ocean side table, the Adirondack chairs, the open atmosphere! The Friday-Sunday band played fun music and we enjoyed dancing too!”

“Very nice place and well kept the only thing is that you need to CALL and make a APPOINTMENT in order to go inside the museum. The location is not permanently closed and you can walk around the outside if you don't call ahead of time to set up the appointment.”

“Sadly, ‘it’s a rare thing in New York City to find homes from pre-Revolutionary War Days preserved. Thankfully this one was and it has quite the story to tell. Well worth a visit. Especially to see the period furnishings and artifacts.”

“Really enjoyed our visit! Was a 45 min subway ride from midtown Manhattan then a 10-15 minute walk from the subway stop. We walked through a business/industrial area to get to the site, felt safe but it’s not scenic. Once we got to the site, we loved it. Since we were the only 2 visitors there at the time, got a private tour of the church and organ recital! Staff was very knowledgeable and helpful. The church and cemetery are a hidden gem and an interesting part of American history. Highly recommended it!”

“This was our fourth trip to Ten Chimneys over several years. Each time it seems to get better and better. I will say our docents/tour guides this time were exceptional in every respect. We had Beth, assisted by Diane, and I can't say enough about how knowledgeable, friendly, and kind they both were.”

“The Greenfield Historical Society maintains the Bodamer Log Cabin on this site. This was one of the first log cabins built in the area. It was built in 1832 and moved to the present site September 7, 1969. At the present time it is open on the fourth Saturday of each month from 2 to 4 pm. (Summer hours and special events may change the schedule.)”

“I've got to tour here for free for school purposes and I always enjoyed my time here. I love how they've made everything interactive and how they display everything. Whoever designed and planned the museum did a very good job and deserves to be applauded for it. There's lots of very interesting information and it goes fairly in depth for those who are very interested in what it was like here. Heavily recommended for anyone who is familiar with Andrew County to tour this place at least once.”
