“Interesting stop on our visit to Niles. Our docent was very knowledgeable and it was a nice tour. I'd like to go back and enjoy a movie! It's tiny and the gift shop is bigger than the museum itself. Worth a look!”

“Good place to hang out with friends and family. As lots of good eatery options. There is a golf course nearby and good for a normal game with family and kids.”

“The train of lights is a historical, magic event to enjoy with your family. Years ago I tried to participate but I couldn't get tickets on time, I didn't know how. This was my third year able to buy tickets. How I do it? This year in October 13th, the tickets sale started at 10am. I work on Saturdays but at 10 am I told my customers to wait few minutes to make my reservation and buy the tickets (there are thousand of people in front of the computer buying too) Why the high demand for this event? There are so many tourists coming, people from many Countries. As I said, it's a magical ride. The workers are so friendly and caring specially with disabled people (I saw it) they are patient but they are old too, they need helpers, volunteers. I'm afraid this event would stop one day if we don't support them. Children enjoy it so much! I wish I knew about people looking for tickets, since I had two extra ones. If someone needs help getting tickets just ask. It will be a big mistake to stop trying just because it's difficult to get tickets. Let's keep our Christmas tradition alive!”

“This cultural center does an amazing job of examining the complex story of a school that originally existed to assimilate Indians into mainstream white culture and now helps Indian students to find their own voices. Heavy focus is on pre-1926 history and military contributions. Give yourself time; there is a lot of reading.”

“My wife and I stopped in the late summer of 2017. The museum/home was closed when we arrived. As luck would have it we run into the curator who was just about to leave. I can't recall his name, but he was kind enough to give us both a personal tour. He was extremely knowledgeable. It was a learning experience we won't forget. Thank you kind sir.”

“For only being open since September 2017, this place has a lot to look at and learn about and are not done with. They have a large selection of horse drawn wagons and other items to check out. They are also planning on opening up 2 more buildings to give the proper room they need for their wagon collection and other things that they have. The woman who runs the place is very friendly and helpful and can explain what they have in their museum. You can have a guided tour or explore the museum on your own.”

“Just a stunning place to go. When I was there, the glass dome was being refurbished. However, this did not at all take away from the beauty of this place. A perfect spot to take pictures in, it’s interactive qualities are also truly intriguing. If you have the time to, I fully recommend you see this place for yourself!”

“Great place for scout activities! Our cub scout pack spent the night in the museum. There was a very informative invention & technology demonstration, a scavenger hunt & a craft project. Donley's staff really takes care of everything for your group. We all thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it!”

“Love this little cabin in the woods -- never gets old, and changes with the seasons.”

“This room contains the wardrobe closet that used to be in the Farnsworth house. It was designed by students from IIT. I actually think the most interesting thing about the space is the series of photos from the original McCormick house designed by Mies. The house was moved to Elmhurst and is part of the Elmhurst Museum (well worth the visit). However, the EAM doesn't have any photos of how the home looked when it was lived in. You can find these inside Barnsworth.”

“Definitely a must for any fan of Emerson or history. The place sadly seem in need of a little love. I think that is why they do not allow anyone to take pictures...”
