“Fun little museum to beat the heat! $6 pp and it says military is free at the front desk but when I asked the attendant he said actually no it's not, so not sure about military discount but that's ok I'm happy to support the museum. Small museum but good amount of artifacts and the a/c feels really great at 2pm in June! The reconstructed buildings outside are cool to see how they may have looked. Also cool is that they have shaded kennels for your pets, as well as a gazebo type thing with grills but I'm not sure if the public is allowed to use them.”

“This little museum is fantastic! Best to visit on Thursdays around 5pm. There's a pretty good farmers market on Thursdays, and the museum is open. It's literally on the Metro Gold Line "South Pasadena Station" stop. Go to the museum and find out why! Way too much to say in this comment.”

“Amassed here is an amazing collection of old restored radios from almost 5 decades. Almost all are for sale. Even if you're not in the market, it's worth a trip just to look at all these beautiful, historical pieces, and maybe pick Rick's brain a bit. The prices are great too, considering the work he puts in. The photos here only show about half of what's there.”

“It was nice, but our tour guide was not engaged and just letting us enter the rooms without much information. I wish we had the gentleman give us the tour. He seemed much more enthusiastic and knowledgeable.”

“Our group had a wonderful time here. Definitely sign up for a tour as you will get much more than you would just dropping-in and walking around (though if that’s all you can do, that’s okay!) Wyatt did a great job keeping things interesting, especially since we had an eight year-old with us. We learned A LOT about Lake Tahoe. Anyone who enjoys the area will benefit from knowing more and from being reminded that it is a place we need to protect.”

“Check the hours especially around Holidays . Especially at Thanksgiving. Huge content that does require some time to really use. I am not sure how much of this is available online. The Librarian was friendly and . very helpful. The Library can be busy with researchers so you need to sharpen your focus.. I think. The building and grounds are very nice with quite a bit of ready parking.”

“A very enjoyable walk while learning how the shakers community lived. Each building tells the story through an audio recording. Anne Lee pound is part of the walk and behind it there are easy trails. It is like a mini oasis in the city, right next to the airport and behind wolf road one of the main streets in Colonie. Old brick buildings full of history, the gift shop sell traditional items and in the summer they have outdoor theater and art and craft fairs.”

“The Dominguez family may be the earliest family in Los Angeles. In 1784, he was awarded by the King of Spain, including 75,000 acres throughout the Port of Los Angeles and Orange County. It is estimated that their family is still the biggest landlord in Greater Los Angeles until today. Amazing family!!!”

“What a little gem! What this museum lacks in size is made up for in character and the presentation by the museum doscent who is a native with great stories to tell. She brings the town and the museum to life. Free but donations are welcome and after her presentation- you want to give. Great quick stop if you have a little time to kill.”

“We stopped in on a Wednesday soon after it was opened and took the Tablet Tour. We had the entire downstairs to ourselves and read about every room and all the people. The staff was very helpful and there is lots of free information as well as other material to buy. It's a great place with lots of local information with national connections and relevance.”

“If in the area, this is a nice and interesting museum to check out. It's quite small (literally and figuratively), but there are lots of interesting things. I enjoyed the musical devices, doll houses, matchstick buildings, firearms, and cars. If you really like engines there were many displays. Things go in rotation so in a few months there may be something new.”
