“We brought our three year old twins here just to check it out, and we couldn’t believe how much there was to see! We lucked out, because one of the directors (James Roth) was there and gave us a full tour… and he made sure to gear everything to what the kids would enjoy. We ended up staying longer than we planned, and we will definitely be going back to see more! How great to be able to show younger generations this farm, and teach them more about Saline’s history!”

“Park just before the gate and present your driver’s license, social security number along with a picture to get approval to go to the missile park. It is located to the left which you must access by a walkway. The museum is closed, but an array of missiles are located just behind. A note of caution: Photos can only be taken at the park and under no circumstances can you take pics of the staffers.”

“Fun, free and entertaining. If you're a chess nerd like mine this place is enjoyable and informative. But even for the casual player, the giant chessboard and "World's biggest chess piece" are worth a stop by. You can grab you a free poster and if you participate in the scavenger hunt then they offer small prizes! My kids really loved the scavenger hunt and battled it out on the board! The wife had to drag them (and me) off of it when it was time to go. Great place to grab a coffee (right next door) and play a game! It costs nothing, but if you can drop a small donation at the front desk, that is not only a polite and easy way to say thank you, it also helps keep places like this running!”

“Went to a wedding yesterday (Sunday Jan. 15 2023) at the venue near the historic Daniel Boone home. It was gorgeous. The houses were beautiful and so was the little white chapel. I live in the city and don’t get go out in nature often, but this was really nice. It was quiet and green. Lots of birds in the trees too!”

“We came with a tour bus and we had a guided tour of the highlights of the museum then allowed to walk around and see, read what ever we wanted. I really enjoyed this as you could ask questions and take your time looking around. A lot of history and interesting facts. They also had a yard of old farm equipment, black smith shop, settlers home and an old chicken coop that resembles many that I still see today.”

“, This site is an historical treasure! It's officially open the first Saturday of the month, but really open most Saturdays. The docents are more than gracious and competent. This building served many purposes, educational, religious, cultural and residential. Be sure to see every nook and cranny, and especially hear about the special artifacts hidden during WW2. And there's no admission charge although you're able to leave a donation.”

“Every small town should have a museum like this showcasing its history. Unfortunately I forget his name but the guy who was giving me the tour was quite knowledgeable. I came into town for a few hours to kill some time while waiting for a family member to have a surgery procedure done at a hospital nearby. Came into town not knowing much about it but because of this museum I left being somewhat of an expert. Being an avid railfan I can say with all certainty that any rail fan will enjoy this spot. I would have to make one recommendation and that would be too remove those pine trees that are behind the place and in their place put a train watching area with like a park grill or something. If you were to do this, you would bring in rail fans (and their money) from all over the place. There is a really nice view of Slinger Junction of course but there's something really picturesque about trains coming southbound going around that corner.”

“Okay. Maybe most won't give this little museum 5 stars. Just understand that it's pretty small and run by dedicated volunteers. There is a cool history of Prussian Germans seeking religious freedom. They have some authentic artifacts. If you really like to see a small museum such as this one, call ahead. They may be able to let you see it on any day as long as you give them enough notice.”

“Overlooking the old harbor, this museum traces the history of Dubrovnik as a major trading power in the Adriatic. In the 16th century, the city-republic had one of the world’s largest fleets, with more than 180 ships and 4,000 sailors! The exhibits here are in English and include model ships from that time, making it a nice 1-1.5 hour visit if it is raining in Dubrovnik. Pro-tip: buy the Dubrovnik visitor card, it will grant you free access to this and other museums…plus the epic city walls!”

“Small museum with very personable guide who knows his planes inside and out.... Tom is super knowledgeable to get info from and he flys all of the planes he owns. He owns almost all of them. And if you have time he has a second hanger with more planes. Give him a call and see what you can work out.... worth the trip.”

“No bathroom for kids or anyone (there is a public restroom a block and a half away). Still requiring face coverings... (June 2022). Volunteers were super nice and informative and seemed genuinely interested in sharing info. There's a little kid area that is kind of like a whale themed center with puzzles, games, books, and coloring pages. My 4 year old seemed to like it. (Picture is taken standing in kid room looking out into the half with information and displays towards front door) Bones and other information in half of the main room. Gift shop on the other half. Decent prices. Lots of whale books for all ages. Left with an orca plush and craft kit. If you have whale questions, this is the place to go. If they had a bathroom available and weren't requiring face coverings, I would have left happier. But they were super nice. 💗”

“Loved this cute little coffee museum. Patrick gave us a historical tour, which was very interesting. Patrick’s mother grew up on a coffee farm in Kenya. The history is very interesting. They are also currently building across the hall a coffee and beverage shop with period themes. The shop is in a refurbished flour mill. They are also having a lovely mural painted on the side of the old silos. Great place for a fun stop. They also have a cute little side of the shop with gifts. Thank you Patrick.”
