“The collections are absolutely wonderful. You will find multiple concepts under one roof, which appeal to many. Even if you're not a fan of art, this is a great place to visit for a few hours. I truly enjoyed the "General Idea" exhibit. They had many exhibits that would make you stop, ponder, be in awe, and walk away with a greater appreciation for art. I would highly recommend visiting as they admission in inexpensive (20$ for adults, 10$ for students with your card). It was a great way to spend an afternoon and learn about various artists.”

“A fascinating centre representing a vast array of art styles, culture, concerns and people. The staff were lovely, welcoming and informative, the installations were interactive, the building was fresh and seats are provided. Sculpture, film, 2D, and culinary were on display at the time of my visit. Ramps and lifts are available for accessibility and there's investigation activities for the older kids- great venue for arty teens and their families. The location surrounded by gardens, stores and restaurants is fabulous too! Undercover parking about a 2 minute walk away on Stanley Street. Wear comfy shoes as you'll be wandering from piece to piece in wonder and not notice how much walking and standing you're doing 😇”

“Went on a late Tuesday morning, it was empty 😁. We got spend a good amount of time absorbing the work. So much art to take in, I could've spent all day in each room. The building itself is exquisite and gorgeous. The top floor is my favorite, if you see nothing else, go to the top floor. Overall, I have a wonderful experience.”

“What an absolute delight!! We had planned to visit the Botanical Gardens but they were closed and saw this place on our way in. Not only do they have a beautiful art and nature filled walking trail around the grounds, featuring a lovely lake teeming with wildlife, but they have a delightful museum with very knowledgable, friendly and helpful staff. The exhibits ranged from modern to serious to whimsical. It was such a treat to spend the day here!!”

“Honestly, I really can’t express how much I enjoy Big S’s Arrowhead Shack. I’ve been going there for a few years and it never fails to give me the ultimate shack and arrowhead experience.Big S and his smile always helps comfort me as he reassures me that I chose the best arrowhead. Sometimes I’m the only one in there with him. He’s always helpful and each experience is a memory.”

“Excellent tour! Very informative! The tour guide was pleasant and she was knowledgeable about the house and grounds. You can come early and walk around the grounds on a self-guided tour of the slave quarters and the school. There's also a gift shop and public restrooms which were clean. Would definitely do the tour again!”

“This is a great place to visit to bird watch, look for deer, and fish. You can also learn some history about the the steamboat Bertrand. In the visitors center, is a bunch of information about the wildlife in the area and items recovered from the sunken steamboat. There are giant windows that look out over the water.”

“Very interesting. The tour is geared to middle school and higher, the hands on experiments (though cool) are geared for much younger. Masks will be required as of Aug. 2 2021. The 3d video was very well done. As is the sand box experiment that shows how water sheds work. Child in photo bent at 90 degree is 15 trying to use the microscopes. Perhaps stools for tall kids who want to participate.”

“If you haven't been to this National Park, you should give it a try! You can only get there by boat with a round trip cost of ~ $35 pp. That doesn't include your standard NP entry fee (which I did not see anyone checking for at either end of the trip) of $10 pp. Other than a couple of restrooms and water bottle filling points, there are no amenities on the island. There are no trash cans... so you pack it in, you pack it out. To get the most out of this location you should have a reasonable fitness level. The route around the southern half of the island with some exploring will take about 4 hours to hike. It isn't likely you would be able to see the whole island in a single day trip. Bicycle rentals were not available when we were there, but for an additional $10 you can bring your own bike on the ferry. The terrain is mostly easy, but there is some sand to traverse which could be challenging. You will be delighted to see feral horses roaming about, along with the usual array of wildlife, like deer, turkey, wading birds, armadillos, and at the waterfront manatees and dolphins. Check out the website to find out more features of the island... there are too many to list in a review!”

“A really small but pretty museum. I think it’s more about the artistry of neon and the brief history of the signs themselves. It was nice to learn more about neon and see all the different styles but my favorite part was seeing some real signs taken from all over Los Angeles and the valley which have now been restored and are fully lit up and on display. The staff is extremely nice and helpful and answered all of my questions that I had regarding some of the pieces. Parking can be tricky in that area because it is close to the Americana mall but depending on the time and day street parking can usually be found within a block. I would definitely recommend although if you don’t have an interest in neon or marketing it may be pretty boring for you. I saw a lot of kids in there so I think that may be one of their most frequent visitors.”

“Learned a lot about Haley’s early formative years and what led to the writing of the book Roots. Great tour! The house has many family photos and is period correct with items that the Parker family would have used. The house sits in the neighborhood where towns people drive and there are different informational markers around the house. His parents first courted here and eventually married. It is also the burial site for Alex. The entrance and interpretive center is behind the house.”

“What an honor to see this memorial plaza. The song, " Proud to be an American" was going through my head as I walked around and read about the USS Wahoo, and her servicemen. Thank you Nebraska for sharing your men and women who gave their all for the Greatest Country on God's Green Earth. God bless America!”

“Haven’t been inside the museum, but the trails are great for a day out with the family. The last time we were there, the water in the pond by the river was very stagnant and there were lots of dead fish - but it was still interesting and was a good learning experience for the kids.”

“We had the most beautiful wedding at Van Hoosen. Jenna was so great to work with. She was helpful in answering questions and really went above and beyond the day of the wedding. The grounds were beautiful. They were so accommodating and had back up plans in case it rained (which it did before and after the wedding). We can't say how much we appreciated her and the entire Van Hoosen team.”
