“I consider the Little Red Schoolhouse a historic staple for the city of Willoughby. The building has been renovated beautifully (quite some time ago) and always looks nice. The surrounding flower gardens/landscaping are charming and well kept. Having enjoyed the schoolhouse's presence there my whole life, as many long-time Willoughby residents have, I have no doubt that it is a valuable and appreciated source of positive reflection, connectivity, and sense of community. These subtle-yet-quintessential elements of vitality offered by historic landmarks are often overlooked... There have been talks, lately, of plans to demolish it and other buildings on site. In my opinion, that would be a huge mistake. I believe that the value of the historical aesthetics and wholesome symbolism it provides are being underestimated by whomever is proposing its demolish. If there is a petition to sign in order to prevent its removal, I will sign it.”

“Love going to the pop up craft markets in here. It's a fun building with a working pot belly stove that cranks it out in winter. Wish there were even more events here! Definitely off the beaten path, look for the signs on the through streets when it's open.”

“If you're just a wildlife lover you'll find something that you can enjoy, be that waterfowl, at times by the thousands, bald eagles, whitetail deer, raccoons, possums, wild turkeys & more. But if you're also a history buff, you'll get a double treat! The recovery of the steamboat Bertrand is a fascinating peek into the not so distant past... You'll spend more time than you would expect in the recovered items exhibit... And the entire experience will leave you satisfied with your $4 expenditure. Totally worth it.”

“Very interesting history of Yukon shown through the artifacts and documents/ pictures donated generously by the Yukon history makers and/or their descendants. What makes it more fun is the museum is in the railway cars that once run on those very tracks. You will have have to make an appointment to be shown around. So call before you go. Carol and Irene are the best in showing us the proud history of Yukon.”

“Great way to spend an afternoon. This museum was super cute and well designed, a perfect place to bring young children. The staff was super friendly and helpful, one of them even gave us an unofficial tour. They have fossils, preserved animals, various rocks and crystals, and lots of displays with info explaining what you see. There are quite a few objects that you are allowed to touch. There is a scavenger hunt for the kids and a play area where they can dig. Totally worth the $8 ticket to get out of the cold and see some interesting things.”
