“Had a really great time this afternoon. I love the desert loop, I get to walk out in nature before returning to the paved paths my family prefers. A win-win. It's a great place to see, whether or not you live in Tucson. It's not solely a tourist destination. I only rated 4 stars because the price is steep. Maybe consider age, residency, etc. My 3 year old is too young to absorb the experience the way we do. I was surprised we had to pay that much for him. I'm sure the money is all for a good cause and as an animal lover, I'd rather my money goes here but at these prices I think I'll only visit once a year.”

“We took our 2 year old who is into trains and we all had such a great time! We took the short train ride and also really enjoyed the model train display. I hope they can dedicate more area to the model trains in the future, because a boxcar is a pretty tight space and only one small family can fit in at once.”

“A gem of a place unexpected on the busy corner of Pilgrim and hwy Q! Their seasonal beer garden (Saturdays only) has a great setup for beer and a light menu. Live bands and a variety of seating or BYO chairs and blankets. Fun interactive toys for the kids (life size Lincoln logs!) set among trees and fields for them to run and explore. Also makes for a great place for family pictures (must get license) and historical events put on by the society.”

“Such a plethora of knowledge about all things mineral, silver fabrication and chasing & repoussé. Multiple blue ribbon winners for first place, from the San Diego County Fair, in jewelry design are here. They are cutting stones or fabricating a piece of art out of silver or copper. The people here are kind and genuinely interested in seeing you succeed as a lapidary or silversmith. Classes are $5 as of now and the only other thing to buy is a membership. There is a museum separate from the workshops which is right by the gift shop. The gift shop has one of a kind pieces from numerous on-site artists. Support local and support handmade. I once heard statements that resonate with me to this date "Life is to short to wear machined jewelry. Shop Handmade. Shop Local." Stop in and see what it is all about they will show you around the place too! If you like rocks, jewelry or want to learn a new hobby - this is your place!”

“Definitely Recommend! Went last Saturday with My mother and friend. All of us really enjoyed their vast knowledge about phones and the industry. Really appreciated Carol's (the Executive Director's) and fellow "pioneers" (volunteers) great love for what they do. Well worth the small admission. Thanks!”
