“The Dinosaur Park is a short drive just east of Austin's Airport and located on the southeast side of Austin. This outdoor attraction features life-size dinosaur statues along an easy walking path and a playground, fossil dig, and picnic area at the beginning/end of the route. We enjoyed a scavenger hunt that has clues posted along the trail and even stopped for a quick photo at each of the photo opp stations. This park seems like it would cater towards younger children but, surprisingly, was a delight to myself and my two teenage boys who were fascinated by the information we learned and the fact that each of the statues were incredibly life-like. We didn't bring a picnic but there were families picnicking at the park and there is a clubhouse available for renting for parties. Be sure to stop at the gift shop for unique souvenirs or a snack before you head home!”

“I always enjoyed this little shop, with beautiful jewelry and artwork. She now also sells a small selection of wonderful, gourmet chocolate treats. Best I've ever tasted. In addition, the owner took the time to ask me my preferences, and then pair me with the types of chocolate I'd enjoy most.”

“Very creative and unlike any other experience. No map so we almost missed several rooms. It took us (2 adults) 1.5 hrs to casually go through. There are lots of hidden gems so don't rush your time there. Hand sanitizing encouraged because many things are touch activated. Would go again but not with children under 5 years or anyone who gets over stimulated really easily.”

“At the time of covid this was an amazing find, credit goes to my wife though. We went a little early in the afternoon and there was no rush. Loves the cleanliness of the place and friendly staff. Our daughter was overjoyed and we spent lots of time at each of the exhibits. Fantastic collection, very very thought provoking. I would highly recommend spending couple of hours here especially if you like the touch of heritage. And don't forget to visit the neighborhood and the locomotives. Loved taking snaps there.”

“This place is different and a little strange but it's quite amazing. For the most part it is many dioramas and thousands of interesting things you have to look carefully to even see a tenth of them. Make sure you talk to the people there. The sailboat 10-year trip information is amazing. Yes this place is kind of rustic I really didn't mind and had to go back again.”

“COME HERE!!! I squeal at bugs and have debates with my six year old over whose gonna deal with whatever crawly creatures enter our home aka not the biggest bug lover. But I came here while camping because why not see bugs from all over that I’ve never seen before? Seriously one of the best museums we have ever been to and we got to a lot of them. I left with such an appreciation and adoration for nature and bugs!! Gorgeous and marvelous creatures you never knew or imagined existed in our world are right here. I can’t wait to go back”

“Another item scratched off my bucket list. Was taken on a tour by Gordon and had a fantastic time. Very knowledgeable. Great feeling being able to see and sit in the vehicles that started my passion to be a Firefighter/Paramedic when I was 14 years old. I retired 9 years ago after a 31 year career. I owe it all to the LA County Fire Department and "Emergency".”

“Yet another hidden surprise attraction. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but buy a ticket and dive into a very thorough and revealing collection of artifacts and pieces frozen in time that are RARELY seen, if ever. This place is great for giving people a flavor for the past that no black & white film footage ever can. Take the kids today!”

“Every summer I forget about this awesome piece of history... and remember it once it’s closed for the season. Setting reminders in my calendar now for ride the trolley... and check out the nearby Excelsior trolley I just discovered! As a kid, we’d always get ice cream after riding the train at the (long gone) Baskin Robbins shop near the train tracks.”
