“A local pizza spot with plenty of seating and an authentic long island Italian pizza experience. The food was good and came out relatively quickly, the service was professional and prompt, and you can't complain about a great negroni! Fairly low key, but the food was fresh and executed well. They have some interesting items like the Long Island specialty of fried pasta cake, which is actually delicious and not like you'd expect. The pastas are good and the shrimp and octopus were delicious. We sat on the back patio which was a little more casual, it's fully enclosed and warm. In the restaurant is a great atmosphere with the pizza oven burning oven in the background. Parking can be a little tight so make sure to get there a couple minutes early.”

“Visited for the first time today while vacationing at the beach. The hostess was friendly and accommodating. The food was fantastic…fresh, large portions, and great quality. Loved the unique touches like the pickled onions and tomatoes on the sandwiches, and the brown sugar butter for the biscuits. The sweet potato biscuits with ham and red pepper jam were delicious and better than others I’ve had in the area. The sandwiches are huge (a half portion option would be great), and quite messy but well worth the sticky fingers and extra napkins. Very clean and comfortable atmosphere, and clean restrooms! One of our new “regulars” for sure when we come back to the beach!”

“Thr restaurant I ate at is called J&V Irie Jerk. It's small, but the food is super flavorful and the portions HUGE. I ordered three ribs and three chicken the photos say all. It was AMAZING. “Tuesdays they have the most delicious fish tacos for only $1.50. They are hot, crunchy on the outside, and juicy on the inside. They are covered in cabbage, crema, and salsa. This was my go-to spot for lunch when I worked in South Gate. The other food is great too, but the tacos on a budget are the best. They also do $1.50 tacos on Thursday, but not fish: asada, chicken, al pastor, and carnitas. It's a small building attached to a car wash. No indoor seating, but plenty of outdoor tables and chairs.”

“The interior and exterior of this newer location is clean and well staffed. The men's room had a sign on the door stating that the lock was broken and it instructed to knock before entering. The lock was missing all together. A simple, quick trip to a local hardware store for a standard replacement deadbolt would have solved the problem. The newly advertised Texas Street Tacos and Tamales were both good, but pricey for the amount of food received. The street tacos are small, but the tamale was a normal sized one. Two tacos, one tamale and a medium drink ran $8.00. the food was hot, fresh and tasted great. The staff was friendly and quick. If they lowered the price slightly and take care of simple maintenance, the rating would be a 5 star.”

The prices are high but we found a way to share our meal and the kitchen and Amy were so accommodating so that we can really enjoyed a little taste of Italian cuisine made from scratch in the restaurant. “Grew up on this pizza. We make the trip from Medina to Maple a few times a year to get our fix. We prefer double cheese, light sauce. Just got it again today and it's as good as it was in 1989. Recently their dough machine broke so the owner has had to order the dough while waiting for the new one. That makes the dough a bit thinner right now.
