“Cool venue, but the food is not 5 stars, except for the Roasted Hen of the Woods and the Wild Mushroom Slippery Noodle (outstanding). For example, the Fried Chicken Dumplings are VERY fried, creating a hard crust that overwhelms whatever little stuffing there is. The Smoked Salmon Fried Rice, was meh, with just enough salmon bits to call the dish "salmon." The braised duck Bao had bits of bone in the meat. It's a cool venue, but based on reviews, I had higher expectations. Four other things need addressing. $0.50 added to each dish and mentioned on the menu, about using that money for "cooks and porters." That should be a management decision and does not have to shared with diners. It's not for the money...it's a distraction to the experience of dining out. The alcoholic drinks are about $12 (way too high) and there are no ice tea refills, so I ended up paying $15 for 3 glasses of ice tea. The service is too fast, clearing dishes the moment you are done and removing dishes of other diners while one diner is still eating. That creates a sense of stress. Finally, there is no signage on the property as to where the restaurant is, so many, wonder about looking for it.”

“Ate here for the first time Monday. Excellent chicken tiki masala. Large serving had me filled. Loved the buttered naan. Best way to describe the atmosphere is an Indian take out restaurant with some seating. You order at the counter, serve your own water, and bus your own table. They no longer have a buffet. Overall I would recommend this place but just know what it is ( a good stop for Indian food) and isn’t (buffet or romantic date night stop).”

“So we decided to take my husband to Old Carolina Barbecue for our Father's Day celebration this Saturday night.... I love how they left up the dividers in between the tables and they added new black tablecloths, making the dining experience so amazing!! (WE tend to talk loud, lol so it definitely helped having the dividers up!) 😉 it was an amazing experience and the food was like the best I have ever tasted... I could never make something like that at home!! We WILL definitely be going back!! I think we found our new favorite place. We walked away with our bellies full and smiles on our faces!! “We visited Marston's late one Sunday morning after a memory of a great experience years ago at their Pasadena location. Our diets and preferences have changed a little bit (ie my gluten-free wife was no longer going to order the blueberry pancakes which she remembers as being phenomenal) but we found an extensive menu with lots to choose from, and of course since it's a breakfast menu, we vegetarians had lots of options. Minor initial disappointment in that the coffee was just okay. A little bit weak for my tastes. I like a super strong coffee and find that many breakfast places which, of course, have coffee, often don't prepare it right and it comes ot you as slightly flavored browned water. This was a little bit better than that, but, again, not as strong as I wanted it to be. My wife and I both got egg dishes. I had the Just eggs with potatoes and an english muffin. These did the job and gave me the descent diner experience I was looking for. My wife thought the same for her florentine which she got without the English muffin as she is gluten-free. It would be nice if they offered a gluten-free bread option of any kind. Our kid had the soyrizo burrito which, even for his teenage metabolism, was generous enough in size that it lasted for 2 meals. Marston's has a slightly more nicer/upscale vibe than your average diner in town and you can get just about anything you want for breakfast. We glanced at the dinner menu and there are definitely options for vegetarians too so we may give it a try one night!”

“Good restaurant in Governors Village. The atmosphere is great and the patio is very nice. They do have heaters for the patio and the staff were exceedingly accommodating. The cocktails are wicked good here. Food is tasty, but not quite on par with Hawthorne & Wood which is why this is more like a 4.5 star rating. Food is also a bit heavy so have an appetite when you go. Definitely worth a trip.”

“My husband and I just sort of stumbled upon Ishnala Supper Club around 3pm on a Friday. We saw a line of people and figured it must be worth checking out. The couple in front of us in line really talked up Ishnala. We ended up getting a couple drinks and hanging out at the newly finished bar outside. The drinks were mixed well and went down smoothly. Our table was ready exactly at the time they projected. I ordered the baked French onion soup, salmon with vegetables - I was impressed with everything I ordered. My husband ordered the cheese curds and those were also delightful. The service was top notch and the views were stunning. The water sparkles in the sunshine and the overall feeling at Mirror Lake is so peaceful. We would love to take any house guests to Ishnala for the true Wisconsin supper club experience. We will definitely be back!”
