“Best place for your child! Both of my children were enrolled here from 3 months old through pre-k. They have the most talented, warm, and engaging teachers! My kids were well prepared for Kindergarten, not only academically, but with excellent social and play skills. They had fun everyday and sometimes didn’t want to go home! The outdoor play spaces are unlike anything you will find at other childcares, with 2 playground areas and an expansive grass learning park for the children to run, play, and ride bikes. Location is convenient for easy pick-up and drop-off from Route 10, 287, and 80.”

“LOVE Downey Co-op! Co-op has a little bit of a learning curve for parents because it involves the parent a lot more than conventional preschool, but when it comes to what's best for your kids, it's a no-brainer choice! We've sent both our sons to Downey Co-Operative Preschool. Our first son attended in 2015, and we currently have a kiddo enrolled. The teachers are kind, understanding, caring, and knowledgeable. They taught me so much about how to help my children learn and grow and self-regulate behavior in a peaceful, calm, kind way. While leaving mommy to head to class was no problem at all for my oldest, my youngest had more trepidation in the beginning. Mrs. Egan was wonderfully kind and reassuring and made that transition so easy. My youngest soon found it easier and easier to leave me at the door and head for his favorite activities! My kids spent their days in the classroom doing what all kids need to do more of- play! With lots of "old-school" favorite toys and activities that offer open ended and creative play, my kids quickly found their favorite things to do. They got their first experiences with painting at an easel (a favorite for both) and exploring different textures at the sensory table. They learned how to follow directions from a teacher, follow a classroom routine, drink from a regular cup, wash their hands by themselves, recognize their names, cut with scissors, develop fine motor skills, and gave them great social skills! I couldn't recommend Downey Co-Op enough.”

“I would give this a five star rating. i met so many people there and to this day most of them are my closest friends. there's rarely any fights, NO DRUGS, and well its just an amazing school. The staffing and teachers are awesome as well. the dances and the rallies are so fun to be at!! I'M POSITIVE your kid will have a blast there. p.s. they play music at the black top every friday as long as the students participate in picking up trash on the black top!!! its so awesome. i really miss valley view.. GO JAGUARS!! dont believe any bad review on here!!! its all lies!! if i could relive middle i would relive it over and over again.”

“We have sent both our kids here and loved the experience. Our youngest son was here for three years with Ms Jiyoung and is moving on to the public school system this year. We always believed that the education he received here has been instrumental in shaping him as a kind, caring and an outgoing person. He picked up fluent reading, cursive writing and fairly advanced math skills by the age of 6. We strongly attribute his confidence and his keen sense of always wanting to do the right thing to what he learnt at this school. He looked fwd to going to school every day, and we would totally recommend this place to anyone seeking a Montessori education for their children.”

“This school has been a pain on very many different occasions but I have met many amazing people here. I’m on my 8th grade year & soon to be in high school in about a month & a half. The teachers here bring on many challenges & some are not anywhere close to being my favorites, but I do have one in mind. Not so long ago we had gotten a new teacher in my LA class, & the teacher they had picked was, in my opinion, the best choice they could have ever made for that school, her names Ms.Thorne. Throughout our time together I am beyond amazed about how much she has changed my perspective of learning, & not only has she helped me a lot with bringing my grades up & being a better student, she has helped me get through my own personal problems. As well as caring for our future she also cares for our well being, she’s a very open person & it’s always so easy for me to tell her what’s going on because she’s so understanding. I may have not enjoyed my first two years of of middle school, & even the first two trimesters of my eighth grade year, but having her as my teacher is a blessing, & just for that, this school deserves 5 stars.”

If your child is having issues in school and talking to the teacher isn't enough the principal is available and very kind and gets the job done. “I moved to Cienega when I ended my sophomore year in a VERY small town, I picked cienega because of its size and I was curious. My junior year started and the staff rolled out a red carpet on the first day for incoming students! All the teachers were high fiving us and cheering for us and it was a great start! The teachers love their students and work hard to make them pass, especially the seniors. They are "c2g" (committed to graduate) and they encourage students to work hard and pass, if they don't then the teachers give them opportunities like retract, study hall, CATS (extra tutoring time) and etc. The sports area of the school works very hard, I've done cross country and track and I loved it! I graduated a few weeks ago and im glad that I got the opportunity of graduating from Cienega :)”
