Niagara Health - St. Catharines Site

Just writing my personal experience based on a scheduled procedure in Endoscopy not anything emergency related. It was a nice experience from start to finish. The process was smooth and easy and I was in and out in no more than two hours. The handful of RN's who helped me during the experience were excellent and very kind (Wilma). Especially the RN in the recovery area (Anna) while coming down from the Anesthetic. These people work extremely hard and are on their feet all day. It's a tough, thankless job and they're under staffed. Please try and remember this before giving them a hard time. We're blessed to have free healthcare in this country. Thank you again to the Endoscopy floor team!

I went in via ambulance and needed to stay overnight on IV and heart monitor. The doctors, nurses, and paramedics made sure I was in good health, and were very kind to me. I felt very safe and cared for, which was a first in a while because I live alone. The nurse that did my blood work and IV was amazing, no pain at all. Went in at 7pm and was gone by 11am.

It made me sad to see how often the staff here get yelled at. Obviously the emergency room wait time is pretty long but you have to understand they will treat the most urgent patients first.
