I was recommended to Heather after a poor experience with another optician about 10 years ago and she has been wonderful. My wife and I have recommended her to friends on many occasions.
I have visited this optician twice - on the recommendation of a colleague and after several disappointing experiences elsewhere. My prescription is complicated and, with Heather, Trevor and their staff,
I could not possibly have been better served.
On each occasion, I stayed for around 2 hours - the time it took to do an extremely thorough examination and a meticulous fitting. I was early for my last appointment and, of those who went in before me, each was asked to look at and sign the standard form giving the price of the eye test or explaining the exemptions before being tested. My test was free but I elected to pay an extra £45 - and was put under no pressure to do so - to have an additional very thorough hi-tech laser examination - we have glaucoma in the family. I cannot understand how the other reviewer could have been charged £150 without any prior warning. The extra £45 was well worth it in my case - it went far beyond the standard picture of the back of the eye I have sometimes had elsewhere and the doctor who carried it out gave a very full explanation of the images captured.
Further, at my first examination over a year ago, I actually ordered 2 pairs of glasses but then only actually took one away - on account of other pressing financial commitments. There was absolutely no bad feeling - quite the opposite. This year, I was a given a discount. Financially, it just could not have been fairer - I do not understand the other review.
I would recommend this practice without any hesitation whatsoever - for me, the service was, quite simply, superb.
