  Flying a Spitfire Mk IX was the experience of a lifetime. Aerobatics over the white cliffs of Dover were unforgettable. A wonderful day and excellent tour of the Heritage Hanger.

  The tour is fantastic & very interesting with friendly knowledgeable staff, sitting in the Spitfire is amazing & then being lucky enough to return to do the flight yesterday really leaves you at a loss for words! Should be 10 stars Brilliant !

  Brought as a birthday present for my husband who adores Spitfires.
  Tour was excellent with just the right amount of information without being too detailed. The enthusiasts could ask for more details. The package included a tour around the two hangars.
  First hangar was the working hangar where all the restoration is taking place. This was fascinating as you could watch the technicians individually rivet the wings.
  The second hangar was full of Second World War artefacts including a Jeep that was used in the film Fury. There was a Hurricane and a Messerschmitt bf 109 on show.
  The walkways were arranged so you could get close up and touch the aircraft. Something quite unique which we had not experienced before at other aircraft museums.
  There were 12 people in the group of whom most had paid to sit in a spitfire. The tour guide took us through the controls and let us play with the controls (except the under carriage and break!). We were allowed to wander around whilst waiting our turn to sit in the cockpit. We each spent a good few minutes in the cockpit when it was our turn.
  My husband had flown alongside a spitfire before but as a day out he found this just as good.
  Whilst we were there my husband paid for an upgrade for me to sit in the Spitfire and although I am not a massive fan like my husband is, I found the experience fascinating and would really recommend that you pay the extra to sit in the spitfire, even if you aren't necessarily an enthusiast.
  Simply a brilliant day out.

  The flight absolutely the best thing I've ever done. There can be delays, with the weather etc, the tour around the hanger is informative and friendly as well.

  Excellent afternoon at the Heritage Hanger on Saturday. A fascinating place absolutely packed with aircraft (mainly Spitfires Mark 2 to Mark 16). Very many thanks to Austin, who filled our time with numerous interesting facts and anecdotes. Plus we each sat in TA805 Spirit of Kent, a working Mark 9 Spitfire. The bonus of the tour was seeing the tough looking and purposeful Hurricane P2921. Wonderful.
