  The service was very good, food delicious, fresh from their own garden. The chef is very talented. Amazing experience, high quality, very clean, good atmosphere. You must go there. Need to book a table as they can be very busy.

  Highly recommended - an excellent example of simple, flavoursome and modern fine dining! Wonderful service, highly accommodating of bespoke requests and a great atmosphere. A real hidden foodie gem with a nod to local produce and sustainability. In our opinion, one of the best restaurants in Kent. Thank you very much, we will be back!

  5 star because I can't give 6! We had a 10 course taster menu in the evening. The food was amazing, every course was very original, but a fantastic balance of flavours, beautifully presented, lovely service, an informal but cosy setting. We eat out in London at some of the best Michelin star restaurants and this is definitely up there. When everyone knows about this place it will be impossible to get in, so go there now!

  Had a fantastic meal at The Small Holding. As its name suggests, the restaurant is also a small farm where they grow their own produce to serve up. Almost all of their ingredients they either grow themselves or source locally like their neighbour’s honey. The chef team prepare fantastic plates of food, transforming the simple ingredients into mouthwatering food.
  
  On arrival there is a good selection of local drinks including a wide gin selection to get you started. They then take you through to the main dining room where you sample their tasting menu. There is only one menu choice as it depends on what they have that day and what is seasonal, but with a bit of notice they can help with dietary requirements. In all we had 14 beautifully presented plates of food, with someone taking the time to come and explain exactly what you were eating. The staff were very attentive and friendly, even offering me a taste of last year's honey vs this year's.
  
  I noted that it was my partner's birthday and they even went to the trouble of making an extra course at the end as a gift. Very thoughtful!
  
  Reservations are a must as there are only limited covers, but I can't recommend it enough. These guys will undoubtedly get a Michelin Star soon, and deservedly so. Keep up the good work, I hope to see you again soon!

  Great to see this wonderful pub is now open again. The pub is set in a lovely tranquil village. Only stopped for a beer or two but the staff were extremely polite and friendly and the beer tasted great, The food looked good so will have to return soon. The pub has a lovely terrace deck area out the back which is perfect for summer evenings. A lot of the produce cooked and served in the pub is grown/reared at the pub. Good pub to start and finish a walk from.
