  Simply amazing Stately Home set in beautiful Peak District. Never disappoints. Staff helpful. Food gorgeous. Often sculpture exhibitions within very extensive well tended grounds. You need a whole day to do this jewel of a property justice.

  For the Churchill buffs this is a must. An attractive garden and walled veg garden and plenty of space for a walk. Even has resident black swans. House is outstanding with Churchill history galore. If you are going by car pick the time to go as the car park gets very busy. Westerham very close so
  You could visit Quebec House too.

  Had a really good day here, lots to see. Loved the gardens and the house was amazing to look around. Make sure you get one of the big info sheets as you go into the house as it has some great points to look out for and the guides in each room are wonderful to talk to.

  Chartwell was a very grand property that Winston Churchill bought. There is the main house looking over stunning views, an outdoor swimming pool that initially looks like a lake, a lake below that has black swans, gardens and many other things to see including a tree house, bomb crater, Canadian camp, kitchen gardens and more than one wooden play park. Very good for families, there is even a separate floor plan for children visiting the house. The house has many different things to see and the volunteers are great at answering questions and there is a lot of information on everything. The cafe was very good, and all the facilities there seemed very well kept. Is a property that is unique and I would defiantly recommend it.

  Didn't go into the house on this visit but have done so previously. It's interesting if you wish to know about Churchill. Can get busy in holiday period. Worth arriving early to avoid crowds.
  Garden nice to walk round. Lack of seats in the gardens. Others walk from here. Staff will provide details.
  Large restrooms. Restaurant can be busy and seating as a result in short supply. Restaurant in my opinion expensive as are most N.T properties. Not much for young children to do here.
