  Get your nuts roasting on the open fire. This classic English country pub has warmth in both character and by the open fire. The welcoming staff are courteous, offering perceptive down to earth service.
  The food is everything i could ask for better from a rural public house: hearty, fresh and local. Yes, the scotch egg was soft, yolky, the after taste of the seasoned sausage meat bellowed through. The pie, floated atop a cloud of creamy potato mash, lifted richly by the gravy and tamed by the crunch of the string beans. The dessert, a beautifully soft rendition of the humble bread and butter pudding was mellow, soft and light.
  This is unadulterated country side feasting at a great price.

  Very friendly and helpful staff with a professional attitude, you feel very welcome it is as though you are a local who visits often.
  
  I had a Sunday roast and my wife had the ploughmans lunch, both lunches were very good quality (and quantity) at affordable prices.
  
  I recommend this pub for atmosphere, good food and service.

  What a find, and on my doorstep too. Great food, friendly sevice, fine ales and nice atmosphere. Classic village English pub.
