“An Excellent Meal with Good Friends, but the pub's ale disappointed. My pint didn't taste at its best. Not off, just not as good as I know the particular 'brew' in question can be. My second pint was lager, which from a quick check around the bar, appears as if it could be the beer of choice for many regulars. This may explain why the bitter didn't taste quite as fresh as it could be. A pity because the Rising Sun is a very good pub in all other respects; indeed, one of the best for miles.”

“A smashing Kentish country pub recently restored by a couple of locals. They had delicious local ales, a roaring fire, friendly locals, great service and a first class kitchen. What more could you want? My mussel popcorn and ox cheek ramen was spot on and refreshingly original. Her cured local trout and ham, egg & chips were more standard pub classics but the best we've had in a long time. They've also a dart board round the back. What more could you want?”
