I chose Today's special; a mildly spiced Moroccon stew based on chickpeas, fennel, carrots, prunes and olives served on a bed of steaming white Basmati rice for £4.95. A light lunch today; next time with a larger appetite I'll try the quiche and salad. The cafe is part of a Buddhist centre on a quiet street close to the Elephant and Castle.”

I had an excellent and large bowl of warming lentil soup on a cold day, along with a standard cuppa, though the unremarkable baguette was disappointing. Really good bread is usually a fair barometer of culinary quality and they should invest in some here. Definitely worth checking out though.”

“Went there for a quick bite to eat before work. Restaurant had 4 people waiting for food. Asked for a small portion of peppered steak. The food was amazing, I've eaten in many carribean outlets and I will vouch for this place as the best tasting peppered steak out of them all. The meat was tender, it was served with rice and some pasta and also plantain and a fried potato. For 7 pounds my only complaint would be that it could have done with a bit more sauce as I felt it was all a bit dry however top marks for flavour. Will be dropping in again soon.”

“Have been getting a coffee here every so often and always bad a pleasant staff making my soya latte. The prices are as everywhere else going up so this is more like a treat couple of times a month. Great place to sit and have a chat with a friend. Always soft music playing in a background. I wish there are more vegan options with food than just a cookie especially when you are not looking for more sugar.... But overall I am glad Costa has opened here!”
