“This review goes exclusively for the Workforce Development Department. I went to school for 6 months at Jefferson State in the Medical Assistant program in 2019. Apparently, my teacher had turned in that I had too many absences; therefore, I was never awarded my certificate of completion 2 years ago, and I had NO IDEA. Even after the instructor made me believe that is was okay to miss the last class (and thankfully, I still had the email to prove it) she marked that absence, and it took me over the days we were allowed to miss. MRS. COKER in the Workforce Education Department is a GOD SEND!! She listened to me cry and freak out for almost 30 minutes (so embarrassing, but I was understandably upset) and she had me write a grievance email and she brought it straight to the director & had the previous decision overturned! I got my certificate of completion yesterday! Mrs. Coker, THANK YOU. And thank you to the Director of the Workforce Development Department for listening to what I had to say and BELIEVING me. You have no idea how much that meant to me!”

“I have been looking for a company to take care of my tuneup for my Yukon. After calling around to Express Oil and a couple other places, I noticed how the service prices varied. I even called 3 Express Oil Change locations on the southern side of town where I lived and their prices were $70-$100 different. I called Steel City and not only did they give me an excellent quote, they got me in right away. My truck is driving is handling a lot better now and I am glad I went there. “Class of 2015 Graduate.....The school has made great progress, they are now ranked in the nation and ranked the #1 school of Birmingham City Schools. 5 years ago (about the class of 2010) the graduation rate was about 67% well my class (class of 2015) had about 99% graduation rate, out of 243 seniors 242 graduated. This is a great school..!!!!!”

“I attended an accelerated learning program there from 1960 to '63. We had the same teacher and the same students for the entire period. It was great. We spent little time the classroom and went on a lot of field trips all over the state. We had unusual classes like communications and art and music. It was one of the most positive educational experiences I've ever had. I still think about and miss those people.”

“This is one of the most beautiful and big church buildings I have seen in a long time. I went there to their bookstore after evacuating to Birmingham, AL from hurricane Ian. Found it on Google.
