  I'm reviewing this golf course relative to it's price point in comparison to other courses in the Birmingham area. The course isn't very long but it is a challenging course. We played the red and white courses and there were only two holes where you could really just rip a driver. The holes have a lot of elevation changes and difficult terrain. The sand traps are devoid of sand as are most in cheaper courses. While they have grass now they are almost as punishing as they left the terrain the same. Greens were in good shape for a cheap course. A few dead spots but mowed well and obviously well cared for. The rough was mowed deep enough to be challenging and there was a clear definition between rough and fairways. The fairways and teeboxes were in beautiful shape. This course is very well cared for. They have a beverage cart that circles the course with beer, liquor, powerade, and water. Something that most cheap courses won't have.
  
  I wasn't sure what to expect reading some of the other reviews from the past but my group was pleasently surprised and will definitely be returning. It's a beautiful course with great scenery and is much more challenging than other courses in what I would consider cheap like Trussville, Roebuck, or Frank House.
