I just happened to be over the St. Clair (Pell City, AL) county airport and landed there. Lewis came over and immediately diagnosed the problem. He ordered the replacement part and got me going within a few days. And get this: the bill was very, very fair. “My plane took a leading edge bird strike. Leon was unbelievably outstanding. He expertly repaired the damage and flawlessly matched the paint. I defy anyone to look at these pictures and see where the old paint ends and new paint begins. Leon was also extremely friendly & professional. Great progress pictures everyday. Plus worked finished extremely fast. I literally brought him my plane on Sunday & it was totally complete by Wednesday ( actually Tuesday night ) Just unbelievable!!! Price. Fantastic. Personally I think he under charges for his exemplary work. Great customer service. What else can I say. There are not enough stars in this review to reflect is work. Other maintenance shops should be half as good as Leon. It’s a no brainer. Leon is the only man for any kind of paint job for your airplane. Whether it’s a simple dent repair, or a full on paint job, the only choice is The Alabama Aircraft Painting Company.”

It is usually a place of business where people learn to fly planes and skydive; however, it is surprisingly relaxing to see the open sky and the hear the sounds of the occasional plane fly over head.
