“The lake is really beautiful. The locals here told us about the place and hence we went for it. The place is immensely beautiful in its own way. The pretty fall colors could be seen everywhere. Before the lake you can see the scenic beauty via the drive to the lake. It's a 10-12 mile drive to the lake view point. We did the twin peaks trail which is 2.6 miles and it is moderate. The trail does have steep climb, but while climbing up the trail provides amazing view of the mountains and lake. We were not able to finish the trail due to time constraint, as it was getting quite late and almost sunset time. A definite add on to the Alaska itinerary but keep in mind the time if you anyone wants to do the trail, it's worth the view.”

“I highly recommend stopping here. It may be a drive but it is beautiful on the way there. Keep in mind it is up hill. You pay for parking and optional tour. But they do offer a yearly pass. This place is so peaceful and rich w history. There's plenty of parking and they have bathrooms here. Picnic tables can be found in the lot for food. Things to mind: Weather. Water. Your shoes. And bring your bear spray. Yes you tourist. Be safe not sorry. The mountains are their homes. Please be respectful here! There are signs w warnings for a reason.”

“Planned a morning Sled tour on our way up to Denali. As soon as you pull up, you can feel the excitement from about 50 dogs. Liz and Matt quickly and warmly greeted us. The tour started with great information about the dogs, Iditarod, their background, and the overall tour experience. Once the informational session was complete, we headed out to meet the dogs and this was a very exhilarating experience. You can't describe the pure energy and excitement as the dogs knew they were going out for a run. I wish I could've done enough tours to give every dog a chance to run that morning. The ride was an amazing experience. It was a great combination of educational, fun, thrilling, and inspirational. Matt and Liz are very passionate about the dogs and sharing it with their guests. I did so many tours while in Alaska, but this was one of my favorite. I am already planning a winter visit for a sled tour in the snow. Highly recommend this tour and supporting Matt and Liz.”

Our guides, Ion and Mike were extremely experienced and made our group feel comfortable throughout the entirety of all the canyons. The gear is all new and kept me completely dry from neck all the way to my toes!!! Which I was shocked and grateful for. The scenery of this river is absolutely to die for. We saw many animals along our way, so not only did we raft class five rapids, we had a sightseeing tour as well! Ion knew the name of every bird and creek we passed. (Blown away at his ability on all levels.) Will absolutely return again.”

“If you’re in Alaska for the scenery, outdoorsy lifestyle, comfortable accommodations all in a great location this is the spot!! Richard and his family were so welcoming and the home itself was not only in a prime location to see beautiful Alaska (attached picture is only a 5 minute drive from the house!) but is beautifully maintained and had great amenities. We stayed in the studio apartment in the basement, which was perfect for a couples vacation getaway. The upstairs part looked like a great size for a larger group however! Would definitely stay here again!!”

“The rooms are excellent. All appliances, TV, dvd, and satellite. Silverware, plates, pans, and even charcoal bbq's out front with everything to start it up and cook with. Right out back is a covered porch and boardwalk that leads to a jacuzzi. For the price you just can't beat it. It is a little ways out there, but I personally think that's what makes it so special. I will most certainly stay here again.”

“We went on the Comet Heli Hiking & Rafting Tour. It was incredible!! The helicopter ride was thrilling! We landed on the tundra overlooking Spencer's glacier! Our guide was Kyle and he was very knowledgeable and patient! He expertly guided us down the mountain, through a black bear encounter, around the chunks of ice and then down the river! Truly an unforgettable day. The highlight of our trip!”

“June 19, 2022 we went out for a full day of fishing on the Kasilof River. Our guide was Brian and I can't say enough about this guy. He was patient, an awesome teacher, a wealth of knowledge and hilarious! We were the only couple with him which was a highlight in its self but there was plenty of other guides out fishing were we were. But we were the only people to max out for the day, so that tells you he really knows how to read the waters and how the fish move. Unfortunately, due to current regulations and laws, we couldn't keep the King's we caught but we got the experience or reeling them in and how to properly release them back into the waters. We highly recommend not only going with this company but request Brian!”
