“I could not recommend this place enough. The owner and his son are some of the most honest mechanics I’ve ever dealt with. I Dropped my car off after closing and they got their hands on a very hard to find part I needed for the repair from ford immediately the next morning and even brought my car to my house once it was finished so I had it back before the weekend. I will not trust my car to any other shop as long as I’m in Alaska”

“Edit: We've been here a handful of times over the last year and we're back again for my birthday. Hubs made sure to ask @ the prime rib being med. rare so he's a happy camper. Tonight I order the seafood augratin and OH MY GOODNESS! It was absolutely amazing! Some crustini and or a spoon would've nice though. We've also ordered pizza here several times and will say, the extra price is well worth it! It's the best pizza in the valley so far! Man! That seafood Augratin was amazing!**** We went here for my birthday dinner. Wait time was about 20mins so we sat at the bar and enjoyed a drink. Service all around was good. Disappointment came when our prime rib dinners were delivered over cooked. We ordered medium rare and from the pix you can see they were medium. The waitress did go back and apparently they had run out of Med-rare and failed to notify the servers. Ok I was looking forward to some nice in season veggies but they were super soggy...I'd swear they were frozen...very bland. Lastly, we were 1/2 way through our meals when we realized that they gave my husband both of our horseradish cups....I figured they just served without. Little complaints really but they add up”

“Great outfitter. They have permits for the sanctuary section which very few people have and it’s very regulated. It’s an amazing spot to fish and we caught a bunch. We went the day after the Kenai opened. The boats and equipment were top notch. Our guide Lucas was very knowledgeable, on top of everything, gave great advice and was relaxed and enjoyable/ fun to spend the day with. Ty, the owner is very nice and accommodating and runs a great company. Will do many more trips with them again. Highly recommend!”

“I am cautious and often disappointed when searching for a new hair stylist. I will always try to explain that I have A LOT OF HAIR! Being new to The Valley, I had no idea where I was going to find a stylist that would have the patience and the expertise to foil, color, cut and style my unusually thick head of hair. My previous stylist suggested Pretty Little Layers Salon. After finding Pretty Little Layers on Facebook, I called and spoke to Jesse who was sympathetic to my situation and understood what I was looking for so we promptly booked my first appointment. I found Pretty Little Layers to be a modest, clean, and a well-decorated, modern salon. When Jesse and I first met, she patiently listened to the outcome I was expecting, smiled, rolled up her sleeves and went on to do her thing. Jesse is very easy to talk to, considerate of her client’s requests and thoughtful when offering new ideas or advice on hair care. I always come out feeling like a million bucks after I see Jesse. I would HIGHLY recommend Jesse and Pretty Little Layers Salon to anyone who is looking for a friendly, professional stylist who is simply awesome :)”

“I have no idea why this place is rated a 3. It was brought to our attention that a patron who was refused service due to alcohol intoxication was disgruntled and started to spam them with 1 star review (you can see it was around the same time 7 months ago.) Also, the staff at Hightower Pub were told to bash this establishment and spread rumors about the staff in attempts to sabotage their business. It’s really sad. I wouldn’t trust any of those reviews from 7 months ago that only have one review on their profile. The food and service are fantastic. The prices do feel higher, but post Covid times do that. Restaurants cannot survive without raising prices. The atmosphere is laid back and beautiful. I’m a picky, well traveled foodie and recommend this place to all of my friends who come out to Girdwood. The owner, Alexandra takes pride in her restaurant and staff, she makes it very apparent that she was grateful to make it through Covid times and to survive in this industry. I would highly recommend this place, don’t let the bad reviews keep you away. I have been here several times and do not have a personal relationship with the owner. This is an unpaid review of a place that I really enjoy going to and hate to see bashed on by immature people abusing social media.”
