Barbara Jean's Asst Living

Barbara Jean's Assisted Living is a very clean and beautiful home-like setting. Tia is AMAZING at helping you through the process of placing your loved one. The care was awesome and meals were home cooked. They made our mother feel like a queen and took the very best care of her during her time there. We couldn't have asked for a better place for her final days.

How can I describe what a perfect fit Barbara Jean’s was for my mother? When my father was needing an assisted living care facility, I toured numerous ones throughout the west valley. I hated them all and never did place him in one. When my mother was in need of one, I cringed on the thought of having to place her in one, but didn’t really have any choice with her. Barbara Jean’s was the first one I toured, per a recommendation of a Hospice social worker. The minute my husband and I walked in the door, I had such a sense of relief. The house was very warm and welcoming. It looked a lot like my mother’s house, so I loved that as well. Teia was very nice and answered all 50 million of my questions. I had toured another home, closer to mine as well, right afterwards. I was in that second home two seconds and hated it – like I had hated all the others. We immediately went back to Teia’s and gave her a deposit to hold a room for her. My mother can be a difficult woman to say the least. Teia and my mother got along very well – she was a good match for my old New Yorker mother. I loved the smallness of the number of residents. Teia and my mother became friends right away, and also with one of the gentlemen who resides there. Teia constantly texted me pictures and videos of my mother having a good time. It was always reassuring to be able to call or text anytime I wanted, even though my mother did have her own cell phone. Teia and her staff were always on top of every possible problem my mother was having. By keeping in constant contact with the Hospice doctor and nurse, her issues never got out of hand. I was always kept in the loop, even though I was able to contact Hospice myself. My visits with my mother were always very welcoming. We were always invited to eat with everyone and just hang out. As planned, my mother passed there. She was never alone, and Teia and her staff always abided by my mother’s wishes. I do plan to go back over to visit occasionally, as I consider Teia and some of her staff my family now. My husband and daughters adore them as well.

A year ago, I had to make the hardest decision I may have ever had to make…placing my mom in assisted living. She had lived with me for 6 years and I had taken care of her up that point, but her health started to fail her and after a handful of issues, I knew she needed 24/7 care. I didn’t have to look for too long after receiving a number of referrals to Barbara Jeans Assisted Living. Upon touring the home, I knew it was where my mom should be. Teia was most welcoming, loving, kind and patient with me as I vetted out her group home. I asked a ton of questions and actually toured another home after Teia’s but came right back to hers. The home is beautifully decorated, extremely clean and smells amazing, and there is never a moment I don’t personally feel welcome. My mom adores Teia and even though she has dementia, mom knows it is her home. Teia is the best cook and mom is well fed. I can text at any time for an update and Teia is great at keeping you updated with pictures! Her staff is exemplary and treats all the residents and their families as family! I highly recommend Barbara Jeans Assisted Living if you are in my shoes, needing a trusting and loving home for your loved one! I was very hesitant, scared and anxious to allow someone else to take care of my mom. Teia eased my worries and it has been the best decision for mom and I!

We found Barbara Jean's on the recommendations of people we trusted for continuing care for our Father. His care is complicated and my siblings and I could not be happier. Tia and her crew are outstanding ! They truly have compassion and care for those they take care of. Communication with me and the medical people about my dad is exceptional. He is well cared for and we are happy and at peace with where he is. Not a better place out there in my book. It's clean, it's comfortable, and it's home for dad now. We can see it is his face. So blessed to have found this place. Recommend it 100% !

Tia and her staff are very diligent in caring for my dad and the other tenants.
The meals that are prepared there must be very delicious cause my dad never leaves anything on his plate.
Tia sends me pictures of my dad throughout the week, which is always a nice surprise.
I highly recommend Barbara Jean's Assisted Living. The home and rooms are kept very clean and tidy and it has a feel of being home.
