Alta Mesa Park

Nice park. Annoying guy in truck thinks he owns the place though.

This park is a very good small park near our home. It is usually uncrowded. The playground equipment is well maintained. We like that there are swings and other equipment for small children.

My grandson loves to swing on the tire swing, watch the birds and butterflies, and go on a treasure hunt to see what he can find (he says he is looking for clues).We guess what kinds if animal lives in each hole in the ground. We pick up any garbage we find and put it in the garage can. Then on the way home we stop by Bahama Bucks for a snow cone.

There is off-street parking -yay- and also the park is well lit. The nearest amenity to the parking lot is the basketball court (which is located to the right). The court was busy. In front of the parking lot, there is the horeshoes court.

Beyond the basketball field, there is the volleyball court and across from that, there is the playground. I like how all the courts were spaced apart from each other.
The play area was okay- nothing too fancy in terms of equipment and it was not shaded. There was a ramada and water fountain by the play area.

For walking paths, there is a sidewalk that winds around the play area and there were some small hills. Also, I liked the open-air layout of the park.
Another thing that makes up for the lack of the equipment in the playground are the park's exercise equipment. There were dips bars, situp bench, etc. Overall a decent park! :)

Nice park but alot of ants that biet you.
