The UPRT training with APS was some of the most eye opening and critical that I have received in my aviation career. The hands on coverage of Loss of Control In-Flight recoveries helped ingrain the recovery techniques of many different situations that pilots hope to avoid at all costs. The entire team at APS was amazing, and made for a very comfortable and relaxed training environment. I highly recommend this program, and place its value high on my list!

This week I spent two days in Mesa AZ with a highly professional organization, Aviation Performance Solutions (APS). The one thing that impressed me the most during those two days was this: there is a tangible love, enjoyment and passion from the entire staff for what they do.

I spent most of my time with several of the instructor pilots. All of them have resumes that are the secret envy of all of us that grew up watching Top Gun. I mean, who did not want to fly jets and ride a Ninja after that? Former fighter pilots, in my limited experience, are a like Forrest Gump’s box of chocolates, you never know what you will get. But in this case, without exception, the instructors are teachers with a deep passion for their craft.

They have an incredible knowledge of aerodynamics, but I could read everything that they taught me from a book. So why did it make such an impression? I think it was the way that the message was delivered. The enthusiasm for the subject, aircraft upset recovery strategy, was infectious. And while my stomach did not agree, I was able to learn and feel like the experience was valuable.

Who would have thought in a highly technical field that something squishy like love and passion makes all the difference?

All of us are in the business of customer service. Our customers can feel from each encounter with us how passionate we are for our craft.

Had the unique opportunity to work with both DQ and Monty for nine flights across five days. Every instructor on the team was obviously incredibly knowledgable and ready to teach. Ground school was relevant flowed into the next days flights seamlessly. Big thanks to Cierra and the ground crew that made everything possibpe while mainting safety and efficiency. I appreciated the professionalism across the organozation that was also somehow incredibly inviting; instruction without being stuffy. Well done, all.

I can't begin to tell you how awesome this place is. Not only do they teach you what I believe to be the most important training you will ever receive, they make it fun. Gearing the training towards real life situations and real life parameters that your own aircraft encounter. The instructors are some of, if not the most experienced group of aviators I've ever been around or had the pleasure of meeting. This course will save your life, weather you need it or not. Every person that walks in and out of these doors will be a better pilot after receiving this training. Thank you APS! Till next time!
