My husband ended up just taking one of our vehicles to the place right by our house for the first oil change. To our surprise, they told us we needed new brakes and rotors - despite the low mileage. We made an appointment with our usual go-to shop, New Dimensions, and they called and told us we still had 30,000 miles before we needed new brakes!
