(March 30, 2019, 9:09 pm)Visiting from California. We hiked the Voaz trail today. What a beautiful Arizona hike. You can get to the Voaz trail from several different ways as there is a large network of trails all around the Phoenix Nature Preserve that connect.
The trail is well maintained and when we were there today, Saturday, there were quite a few hikers and a couple of mountain bikers using the trail.
The trail is a solid moderate. Voaz trail makes a loop up and through the peaks of the preserve. We also took an access trail to one of the peaks where we sat and had lunch. It’s a bit of a scramble, but doable. Wear sturdy shoes as the trail is rocky and bring plenty of water. You’re in full sun the entire time. Our hike today was 4 miles with 1,000 feet of elevation gain.
