Beautiful scenes, wonderfully nice people, couldn't recommend this place enough! My horse was a little slow, but he was so sweet and I honestly wish I could've ridden him back to Germany (if that were possible). I do recommend going when it's not as hot out, and definitely bring water and stay hydrated! It was hooooot, but so so worth it. Will definitely be going again the next time I'm in Arizona.
My family and I had never been horseback riding together, so while we were enjoy some vacation time we decided to check out Ponderosa Stables. The customer service was great all the staff were pleasant and helpful. The person who led us on the trail was informative and friendly. They run a very organized operation and the prices were reasonable. Wish we had taken more pictures though but overall a nice ride on a trail that was easy to navigate with excellent views of the mountains. Next time we'll bring our cowboy hats.
On a much needed vacation decided to take my youngest horseback riding last min. Guide was really friendly and suggestive of other activities. We didn't ride the full ride and there was no presses to. Ride early as possible if you can't take the heat lol but we still enjoyed the.
This place is the best. Janine and cowboy Jim are amazing people. Very knowledgeable in the history of the area. Their horses are rescues. The horse I rode was gentle and amazing. Even though he was one of the biggest horses I've ever seen. He was nestling me and we were hugging waiting to get on our ride. Janine is a very skilled rider and guide. And cowboy Jim is a hoot. He really made the ride a lot of fun. We sang cowboy songs and had a heck of a good time. I would recommend this activity for any family.
We just finished an amazing afternoon ride alongside South Mountain through Ponderosa Stables. My boyfriend and I were both first time riders and we could not have had a better experience. The horses were friendly, the scenery was beautiful, and the trails were great for beginners. Our wrangler, Kaia, was very encouraging, knowledgeable, and informative. If you plan your trip definitely make sure to wear lots of sunscreen, as you are pretty much in direct sun the entire time. LOTS of water too! Thank you Ponderosa Stables for this experience, we will definitely be back in the future!
