“The school is good for students trying to play catch up. Mr.Johnson is awesome couldn't ask for someone better to run the school he takes the time to know each individual student builds a relationship with them which helps with the kids trust issues and helps them advance through any past struggles and propels them into their future. The teachers are good, very knowledgeable and good with the children and we all know how difficult teenagers can be. They do lots of activities to keep the children busy and provide a positive getaway for the children and as a reward for their hard work. The best school and staff ive ever had the pleasure of coming to know out of the many children i have fostered, adopted and had this is my 5th and last child to go through this school over the past 12yrs. They are awesome.”

“I really like this school for my kids. My son is in 3rd grade and has had trouble with bullying in other schools. Since coming here last year he has actually liked going to school, unlike before where he dreaded it. We have had no issues with bullying thus far. The teachers are great I have not had any problems.Yes the pick up in the back is congested but all the other positive attributes about valley view outweigh that. Also the food is not bad my kids have never complained about it. My children Love attending school here and I plan to keep them here as long as I can.I am happy that my kids have a nice environment to learn and grown in.”

I have been very impressed with the leadership, office staff, nurse, and teachers at Cheatham. I love the curriculum, the AVID option (college readiness program), technology (online portal for parents and ClassDojo for parent/teacher communication), and the beautiful campus. The teachers genuinely care about their student's success, and the student's themselves are pretty incredible. “This is place is like a pre-school and elementary school Oasis in the middle of the desert. When we first moved to Tempe in 2016, I visited 26 child care centers searching for a good fit for both our children. I have not seen anything like the Seed anywhere in Tempe. The staff is great, friendly, caring, and dedicated. And they seem to be happy at work, which I did not see in other places I visited. The classrooms are bright, spacious, and full of natural light. The playground is great! The school philosophy is wonderful, close to nature and praising respect for the planet. And we really feel part of the community there. Students do gardening activities, composting, recycling, etc. and there is always an opportunity for kids to learn about social justice here by participating at food drives, Christmas toy donations, etc. I loved that the school does not cater lunches and families can pack their own for their kids. Plus, the school promotes healthy diets, which many other schools, especially elementary schools in the area do not. My husband and I really love this school and our kids do, too.”

“My freshman year was okay. It was sort of like North. There were five fights. Academics went down a little. The teachers vary. Some can be nice, the rest are aloof. Now, it has gotten stricter. There are penalties for tardies. There are penalties for not doing homework. The school runs on coercion.”
