Love this hike. It offers a scenic view a little over halfway in that is perfect for those not looking to complete the full hike. However, I highly suggest making the effort to make it to the top.
A hidden twill head in fountain hills. Gentle trails in the saguaros. Elevation is s bit higher then Phoenix, which makes for magnificent views.
Great trail with a good amount of verticality and some great views. Not a lot of shade unless you're there early morning or late afternoon. Opens at 4:49 AM which is perfect for a summer hike.
Moderately challenging if you don't hike often, so I would leave the little ones at home, including any small pets, but it was an otherwise all around wonderful trail with a pleasant view. I only got half way through the trail because I set out a little too late in the afternoon. You can only be out there from sunrise to sunset per the rules and regulations. I plan on making the full 5 mile journey next time!
A nice moderate hike to tackle early in the morning. There is no shade throughout the trail, so wouldn't recommend on hot days.
It has a gradual incline throughout with no steep sections, which makes it a good hike for beginners too.
