I was warmly welcomed. The Word was clearly and accurately presented. It was obvious that this was a congregation of love. I feel like i have found my church home. Praise Adonai!

I have had a personal relationship with Jesus since the 14th of February 2008 and was raised in a so-called Christian home. I've heard many a message about Jesus, his disciples, his miracles and how I am to live. I read the Bible every day, listen to preachers on podcasts daily and flood my home and car with Christian music. You can say I am bathed in messages of Jesus... until I went to this place, that is.
A friend from church was persistent in their invites to Tree of Life. I am glad they were there because it always feels strange to me to go to a new place where you don't know anyone. Sort of like kids when they begin their new school year in a new school, remember those days? Ugh! But the greetings were warm, the attendance was small and Rabbi Jack Zimmerman was to give the message. I didn't know what to expect in a Messianic worship service. Was it like church I knew these 50 some years? Would they speak in a different language? When do I sit? When do I stand? Are people watching me waiting for me to mess up? And the biggest worry of all, would they ask me if I was Jewish and why would I go there? I didn't know much about my Jewish heritage except for the fact that there is Jewish blood on my mother's side but, hey, we weren't raised, you know, JEWISH. I know now that my paternal grandfather was Jewish and so were his parents from Germany. So, yeah, I have Jewish roots through my mother.
The pressure mounted as I sat next to my friend. Then the horns blew and people stood. I thought, okay, this is interesting. The welcome from a Rabbi began and as the worship music began and the Torah was unveiled I succumbed to this increasing overwhelming sense of awe. The Torah was brought around and I thought "God, my God, gave us the Torah to live. He entrusted me with these words and yet who am I?" The Almighty, Creator of the universe, gave us these words. And then Rabbi Jack spoke giving details of Yeshuah and his journey in such an animated way that I sat there and cried. I cried! Then I said to myself, "I have to come back for more." I am telling you, if you are a Christian and you attend a church regularly and you desire a CLOSER walk with your Savior, you want to KNOW your Savior, you NEED to attend a Messianic Synagogue.
Because of this place I know more about who I am and who my Messiah is and how he lived. Because of this place I am learning the true in-depth meaning of words written in my Bible from its original language. Because of this place I have developed relationships with people I hope will last for all eternity. Because of this place I am more in-touch with my Jewish roots, celebrating and observing every feast that my Messiah observed and closer to my Savior than ever before. And, because of this place I feel at home.

I really enjoyed my short time with this congregation.

It is a small, peaceful congregation and I was very thankful not to see and six pointed stars everywhere.

What I loved most was the call to pray for everyone near the altar, anointing them, it was the most intimate experience I've had within a church and I received much Shalom in my heart. I'll never forget it :)

Shalom to you all and God be with you all til the end!
