“The ambiance and the food were excellent. When our server, Bradley, actually approached our table, he was very helpful with recommendations. However, it is very surprising to me, especially because our table was directly in front of the kitchen doors, that it took him 40 minutes from the time we sat down to take our drink orders. I didn't realize so much time had passed, but my friend who used to be in the restaurant business made the observation. When it was time to pay for the meals, he dropped off the ticket, but never came back to collect our payments, so we ultimately found someone else passing by to run our cards for us. It was very dark in the restaurant, but I appreciate that there were lamps on the table so that we could at least see the menus. I will say that the bar back staff and the food runners were excellent. Our waters were never empty, (we would have ordered more drinks if Bradley had come to our table more often to do so), there were never empty dirty dishes on our table, and the other staff were great. It may have been that Bradley had been double or triple sat when we arrived, but we felt mostly neglected throughout the night by him. The decor was stunning. I loved the attention to nature theme, the fire pits, and the light fixtures. The music was a little loud, but I'm guessing it is part of the ambiance. Overall, a lovely way to spend a Sunday evening”

Even for a Sunday during football season, with the bar full and all booths taken the service was top-notch. Our server Cameron should be the model for what a server should be. He was prompt, attentive, and even though he look like he was running at 100 mph remembered everything that we asked for and anticipated things we needed. I was not impressed with Zipps my last visit a long while ago, glad I gave them a second chance.”

“Really good authentic Mexican cuisine! I had the carnitas enchiladas. They were delightful! My wife had the steak soft tacos. She said they were super yummy. We liked the beans, felt they were better with food than alone. Have to say, neither of us cared for the rice, but I generally don't care for Spanish rice, so that may not be fair. The chips and salsa were excellent. I didn't order it or get a picture of it, but I saw another table get a 3 glass margarita platter in 3 different colors/ flavors. That looked fun and delicious! But had to drive back to Vegas after leaving, so I'll have to try that next time. They have a nice outdoor patio in the back for large parties or weekend nights at the bar area, picture attached.”

Vegan, vegetarian, meat lovers, etc. Here's a tip: You can get ANY sandwich from any other Ike's location nationwide at any store. It is tucked away so you may get lost trying to look for it, but you won’t be disappointed when you find it. The indoor dining area is a little small, but they have a huge patio overlooking a lake, so if you can manage to sit outside, do it. Our waiter, Benjamin was great, even complimenting my pizza tattoo. He walked us through both menus. We had a little hiccup with the food order, but they were genuinely apologetic and fixed it quickly. The pizza was nice and hot, no flop on the crust either. Food was great and beers were cold. What more could you ask for?”

“My fiancee and I frequently come here as a nice treat. The shakes are absolutely delicious, as are their protein donuts. Cory & Sarah are both very talented and have a huge selection of drinks and bowls, all of which have been great. All of the negative reviews on both Google and Yelp citing the lack of empathy/customer service skills are also accurate though -- to be fair, however, I never came here to make friends anyway. It is worth noting that both owners are no longer wearing masks as of this past weekend (May 2021), and despite half the population believing COVID is over, it is very much far from it. If you are bothered by food prep without masks as I am, I would stay away. There are plenty of other local small businesses in the Old Town area who comply with CDC recommendations and common decency.”

“This was my first experience with this establishment. It is easily found but does not jump out when driving by nor does the outside elude to what you will find inside. This is a cozy place with delicious New Mexico inspired food. The decor is designed to reflect a cavern as its a play on Carlsbad Caverns in New Mexico. Everything we had was delicious and everything we saw come from the kitchen looked amazing! Highly recommend for an enjoyable and casual dining experience with some ambiance.”
