A Pootrakul, MD: Neurosurgery

Dr. Pootrakul was the neurosurgeon working at 1am when I arrived by air evac unconscious. I was told he told his staff time is critical and he took me to surgery and repaired a subdural hematoma I am very grateful to him and fully believe God chose him as the one to operate. While I was in the hospital he came to see me every day. His kindness and bedside manner was excellent. I am very grateful for him. He always explained in detail all my questions I had. Highly recommend Dr Pootrakul.

I owe my life to Dr. Pootrakul and Dr. Jeff Ronn. 17 years ago I experienced a rare epidural abscess from which I became septic and nearly died. As an RN I had worked with Dr. Pootrakul for several years never imaging I would need him to save my life. Dr. Pootrakul surgically removed the abscess from my spine along with pieces of the spinal bone that had become infected (ostemyelitis). I no longer live in AZ but would return to see Dr. Pootrakul if I ever needed further spinal surgery.

I would put my life on his recommendation. Dr. Pootrakul has operated on my back twice and both surgeries have been successful. I do not take any pain medications. Secondly, my mother had pain that was overtaking her body. She was given pain meds, sent to a pain doctor and then even fentanyl patch (she was never into any medications). We finally took her MRI to him and he said she could have become a paraplegic had this continued without someone finding the cause. She had spinal surgery and has been great since including no pain meds. Our family is eternally grateful for the wisdom and skill he has including coming back from trying to retire.
