Dr. Kahlon listens and puts me at ease. He has an easy and gentle spirit.
Dr Kahlon is one of the best doctors I've had the pleasure of dealing with. He's kind, caring, exceptionally good at his job and efficient. I'd recommend him to anyone who needs a neurologist.
I started seeing Dr. Kahlon 11 years ago when my previous neurologist, Dr. Newman, passed away. I'll always remember what Dr. Kahlon told me on that first visit. He asked me about my seizures and at the time my grand mal seizures were under control but I was still having small seizures pretty regularly (stayed conscious but got confused and emotional). His response was "I will get you so that you are completely seizure free, if you give me some time." My response was "I don't see that happening but you can try..." I told him my biggest concern was the handful of times that I'd had grand mal seizures and that I could live with the small ones. His response was "unacceptable, I will get you seizure free." Honestly, I left there thinking "this doctor's confidence and optimism is more than I'll ever have regarding my epilepsy."
Fast forward to August 2013, after 8.5 years without a grand mal, I had a seizure which resulted in a concussion. I saw Dr. Kahlon the next day. He changed my medication from Carbatrol to Keppra and I lost my driver's license for 6 months. He also treated my depression while I waited to see a psychiatrist. Since then he pushed me to get off of Valium, after many years of depending on it, and I haven't needed to take it in over a year now. It's been a few years now since I had a small seizure, as well. When he changed me to Keppra it effectively treated my small seizures and has eliminated them from my daily life. Which has led to a much better quality of life. In addition, he has made me a believer. He was confident that, in time, he would be able to eliminate my seizures even though I doubted that was possible- he still believed it was and he made it happen.
2 years ago, at a routine check up, I reminded him of what he told me in 2007. I told him that he had assured me that my seizures would be gone, in time, with his treatment. I told him that I had not believed that was possible at the time. After a full year of being seizure free I told him that he had been right, that he had made me seizure free in about 7 years time. I thanked him and told him that he had changed my life. He's always been so kind to me since then, I like to think that I'm his favorite patient but being such a classy doctor I'm sure all of his patients feel that way.
If you ever need a neurologist, although I pray you don't, Dr. Kahlon is THE BEST. He's changed my life.
Dr. Kahlon is such a great doctor ! He is such a caring and compassionate physician always makes his patients his #1 priority and always tries to help them in anyway he can I highly recommend him to anyone !!!
