Sonoran Sun Pediatric Therapy

My son had his first physical therapy evaluation appointment today and it was an great experience. I was really impressed how organized the place is and how friendly everyone was. Allison was awesome and my son was super comfortable with her and I appreciate her knowledge and I’m looking forward with my son being with her for future appointments. Bonnie was also super nice and helpful. Thank you!

Always a pleasure and fun experience with lots of manners

When my daughter was officially diagnosed with Autism and ADHD I felt overwhelmed. I am already a first time parent but now I am a first time parent raising a special needs child. I'm also a military spouse which means I more often spending majority of my time preforming the roles of a single parent. Life was making me double dip my chicken nugget in the sweet and sour stress sauce for sure!
She first attended in July 2020 Sonoran Sun she was a nightmare. I know taking my daughter to therapy is important for her growth but I was terrified of my daughter having a tantrum. If you're child is anything like mine you know that the word "tantrum" is putting it mildly. I would be so embarrassed that I would sit in my car hoping today would be a good day. During those early sessions she would throw chairs, flip the table with her assignments on them. She would bite, hide under table I mean she was like a gremlin who clearly ate after 12 o'clock and get wet at the same time! She was so bad we had to park in the back of the building to help minimize tantrums when time to leave.
Now its April of 2021 she's attending ABA therapy early in the day and taking OT, Speech and PT at Sonoran Sun. She's walking into the waiting room and dragging her therapists at Sonoran Sun by the hand to start sessions. She cannot wait to start session! Some days she's begging the therapists for a piggy back ride, a hug, tickles, body boards or even most recently for them to dress up as super heroes for their session! Each of her therapist at Sonoran Sun know her likes, her favorite tv shows, and most importantly her potential as well as her personality. OF COURSE there will be some bad days but the fact that I never felt any judgement as a parent for my daughters actions or behavior is so refreshing that taking her to therapy is my favorite part of the week.
My daughter and I have managed to make friends while sitting in the waiting room but also feel the love from all the workers at Sonoran Sun Pediatric Therapy. They are a wonderful team that truly believe in helping children. They know each child by name, their unique personality as well as help push them to meet their goals. They are so kind and never have I seen them be anything more than professional towards both parents and client. Its hard being a parent but its even more difficult to be a parent to a special needs child when it feels like everyone in the world doesn't understand you're unique situation but the folks at Sonoran Sun do. I know as a military family we don't have control over our lives or our location, but we are going to fight to stay in AZ because we love Sonoran Sun Pediatric Therapy so much I can't imagine any other place that can make therapy so much fun for parent and child!

My daughter has been coming here for a few months and has shown so much progress! She loves her therapist and has so much fun every time she goes. The staff is always so friendly and welcoming every time we have an appointment.
