Upon arriving at my appointment I was greeted by a woman who looked and sounded very tired. She informed me that they didn't have the appropriate referral from my primary care provider. I asked her why no one had called to inform me about needing a referral. Her response was that they are short staffed. Having been a nurse for a very long time, I know you never give patients that excuse. I explained that this could have all been avoided had someone called me to inform me that I needed a referral. I called my primary and they sent the referral right over. Afterward, the same front desk lady was pleasant when I paid my copay.”
