Kingman Wash Lake Mead National Recreation Free camping

Nice place to camp, hike or just go for the day. Kind of desolate, so bring lots of water and make sure your gas tank is full. Very cool place.

Took a short drive to check this place out. Saw the first sign for campsites , but it was up a steep hill and our car wouldnt make it. Drove further down to the lake. Several sites before the lake. It was a Sunday. Couldn't see the beach because there were so many People and tents set up right on the waters edge. Maybe during the week it isn't so packed? One bathroom(that I saw). Didnt see any dump stations. Or potable water . only water is lake. A Gorgeous area. NO Shade !! It was 80 degrees and extremely hot out there. Free and can stay up to 15 days. US 11 to Kingman road. About 40 minutes from Vegas. The roads were pretty good. Some holes here and there. About 15 minute drive thru to lake. I had phone service Metro pcs. But ive heard others say they couldnt get reception.
