BASIS Oro Valley

If you like STEM subjects and don't mind a bit (scratch that, a lot) of stress, BASIS Oro Valley is the school for you. I plan on becoming a pathological researcher with an engineering degree, and the math and science programs are perfect for giving you an understanding of these subjects and an advantage over other students elsewhere. I am in tenth grade and am currently in AP Biology and AP Calculus AB, so if that seems about where you'd like to be in terms of STEM subjects, then go to BASIS. There is a lot of stress and work that comes with this of course, so if you don't like working hard, then BASIS may not be the school for you. My only complaint is that the school is small and packed, so if one person comes to school sick, it can turn into a schoolwide epidemic. GO JAGS!

I've been here since 5th grade, now I'm in tenth. Most people would say it's a hard school, but after a while, its just something we get used too. The same thing goes with the amount of homework given. It can be a lot, but you get used to it. It's one of those things where if you want to succeed, you just have to be able to put in the effort. Yes, it can get really stressful (honestly it does makes you want to quit and leave sometimes. Take me for example, I'm always questioning why I still go here). But in the end, I'm sure it will be worth. Personally, the only reason why I'm still at this school is because of what I want to achieve after high school. My goal is to go to the Air Force Academy, so hopefully I can get there. Anyways, most of the administration is great. They are really understanding of how hard it can be for us sometimes, which is really nice. You can always talk to them about whatever is on your mind, which I love. Honestly, we are all practically family, the students and the staff. It's such a small school, we all know each other. Which when it comes to school drama between students, there are pros and cons to that. I can say that from experience. The drama is the only thing i despise about this school, but that happens at every school. So sadly, there is nothing that
I can do about that : ( Sports here aren't the best, but I would say its pretty good for the type of school this is. We do get really competitive which is really fun. To be honest it is one of my favorite things here, playing basketball.

I went here at fifth grade up to eighth . Most of the teachers there really nice and chill. I struggled at first, then i got used to it. I would recommend this school to people who want to expand their intelligence.

I love it people are very nice! Ok yes I am in fourth grade but the math teacher is like the nicest guy I ever met 😄
