Went March 19, 2022 for the living history pop up. Museum in shambles. Displays torn apart ,display pieces gone ,maybe renovating?.......Very, very sad. Building being adobe block just melting away, so is the kitchen building. Kitchen building locked so no access. Re-enactors there in costumes, soldiers, band, weapons displays, active blacksmith display,so that was interesting...... Heard someone say there's been a bond passed for refurbishment and remediation of the museum buildings. Sure hope so. So glad to be able to go inside even just the one building, even in it's state of upheavel. Ft. Lowell Park and Museum is a very special place with so much history in one place. On a side note. If you drive around in the Ft. Lowell neighborhood there are ruins of the old school house, and also homes from that time period, still in use. We find it to be a very special area.

Good place to learn about local history, they can also tell you we're all the museums are in Tucson maybe even even in Arizona, and believe it or not a small donation can go very far, and there is more than meets the eye just talk have a conversation and you will learn a lot ask questions no question is ever too big or too small...

Had to see where General Nelson Miles hung his hat during the Apache wars. General Crook met his match with the Apaches all over Arizona. After Geronimo surrendered to Gen. Crook, & went on a drinking binge & fled again with 35 other Apaches. Crook requested a transfer, wanted out. that was admirable for a General to do that, but iam sure it hurt like hell for him. To pass the torch when you know you cant catch a ghost.

I love Western history. This place gives you the feeling of what it was like back in the day. Worth visiting
