The first podiatrist I visited wanted to fuse the large toe from a gout deformity. Recovery would be six non-weight bearing weeks followed by a post surgery boot. I was in a great deal of pain at the time which cortesone offered little relief. After consulting Dr. Bodmer, he did a joint replacement on the large toe, repaired a hammer toe and shaved a joint on the middle toe. I’m 5 1/2 weeks out of surgery and have had very little pain in that time, actually less than before the surgery. I have only taken Tylenol. I think I’m ready to get back on the golf course. Dr. Bodmer is the best!

My left foot started giving me intermittent pain around 4 years ago. The pain became more frequent and increased to a level I could best describe as excruciating . During this time, I bought many pairs of shoes, orthotics, pads, cushions and the like. I should add, that I’m an active person , gardening, creative projects and walking at a good pace 4-6 miles /day.

As the pain became unbearable, I finally sought help from Dr. Bodmer. He found the cause of my foot pain immediately. Morton’s Neuroma, a tumor on the nerve between my third and fourth metatarsal. It would need to be removed at some point, but I opted for the less invasive approach of a Cortisone shot. The shots worked to a degree and I had three over the course of a year.

As functioning and walking became a constant issue, I mustered the courage to get the surgery. I wasn’t so afraid of the procedure, but of the recovery time and post-op pain. It turns out my fears were unfounded. Here’s the timeline:

2016 - Dec. 8, 2020…..Pain * especially the past 2 years

12/9/20 Neuroma removed *NO PAIN (No pain meds either- just a couple Advil)

12/22/20 Stitches removed *NO PAIN
Went for a 1.5 mile walk that afternoon. *NO PAIN

12/26/20 Walked 5 miles *NO PAIN

Now, walking 6 miles most days.

Dr. Bodmer is an excellent doctor and surgeon. Every single encounter with him was absolutely top rate. He and his staff ushered me through this experience with 5 star results and I would not hesitate to seek his help in the future.
