Rock Peak Wash Trailhead

We took my 95 year old Aunt for a sonogram and chest X-ray. Check-in was easy as I completed most online. The front desk staff was very quick in getting her ready. She is in a wheelchair and not very mobile, as soon as she was checked in, the staff was ready for her and very helpful. The X-ray tech took great care to position her so the wheelchair was behind her as she had to stand for the pictures. It made her feel secure in case she couldn’t continue standing. The sonogram tech was very nice as well assisting to get her settled on the exam table and directing her for the deep breaths that were needed during the exam. She told her when you’re ready take a deep breath and was very patient and gentle with her. We were in the office for less than a half hour. It was an easy visit for an elderly patient and my Aunt was treated with great respect and kindness. Thank you to all the staff!

I just had a CAT scan at this facility and the receptionist were very helpful. The technologist were super sweet and everyone was punctual and more than willing to help. The facility is very clean as well and I would recommend it to anyone.

The staff was pleasant, efficient and thorough. From the front desk to each technician, they were polite, respectful and professional. Each person clearly explained the process of the procedure. I had a mammogram, breast ultrasound and bone density scan and was in and out in less than an hour, but was in no means rushed. The facility is clean, attractive and relaxing for a medical office. I cannot recommend this office (Merrick) highly enough. Thank you for a great experience.

Very efficient and professional! Everyone is super nice and supportive. Have on line portal to get your results in a timely manner. This is my go-too place for all tests. .

Arrived to a very pleasant greeting. Filled out a couple of forms & was seated in a clean & comfortable waiting area. Within 15 minutes I was taken into a room. The Technician was very pleasant & professional.

Great place to go to ride my horse, or for hikers. But downfall is the small parking lot!

This is probably the most remote of all the park entrances, both in terms of parking and people on the trail. There are great views on the drive in that haven't been spoiled by houses yet. As soon as you leave the parking lot, you enter a tree- and bush-lined wash and feel like you're completely alone in the world.

Rock Peak Wash Trail is out and back, but connects to San Tan Trail and isn't far from the turn off to Malpais Trail. If you're looking for a good, solitary 8 miles to connect with nature, take Rock Peak to San Tan, turn left on San Tan and then left again on Malpais. You'll exit the Malpais loop further North than you entered, so return by turning right on San Tan, pass Hedgehog turnoff and the Malpais turnoff you used previously, and return by Rock Peak.

Make sure you don't leave anything in your car and be aware that some nut job likes to shoot guns pretty close to the trail.

Love riding my horse out from this quiet trail head. Friendly hikers that understand trail etiquette. Beautiful array of cacti.

This is a great Trailhead to walk. You get a great workout walking along the sandy wash but it's also easy enough. I totally enjoyed the quiet surroundings and beautiful views. There were very few people so I got the alone time I really wanted. It's a trail worth looking into.

We watched the meteor shower. It was perfect clear skies last night (Tues 10/20) thru morning (Wed 10/21) which made the watching the meteors easy and so enjoyable. Nice to be able to get away from the light polotion from the general phoenix metro area and surrounding cities with less than an hours drive to this spot. Recommend this area for those wanting a clear view of the sky.
