“Walking into Portillo's is a refreshing experience. The open diner speckled with neon signs and big windows into the kitchen creates a laid-back atmosphere. We ordered the Maxwell Street Polish Sausage and the Big Beef sandwich. The hot dog was absolutely perfect, with the signature sausage snap and juicy flavor. The Big Beef was okay, although very dry; I ordered it "dry" (no gravy), which is probably the cause. I would order sandwiches with lots of gravy next time. Portillo's has the best dogs in Tempe and a decent sandwich menu to back up the charge.”

I was accommodated for my gluten free dairy free intolerance. The peach Sangria was spectacular! The roasted corn was amazing. I asked for it plain and add mayo, lime and salt which was out of this world. My hubby ordered the Salmon. He said it was the best he has had in a long time. The ambiance was romantic and cheery and our server was friendly and accommodating. I like to take some time between courses. It seemed to be good timing between the drinks, the salad and the main course. I had a wonderful time here on the Saturday night we visited. This will be our go to place for a romantic dinner.”

“Fast and courteous service when we walked in. The food was fresh and tasted good. I was very happy with the level of toast on the bread on my burger. The veggies were not wilted or smashed. The fries were nice and crispy with just enough soft steamy potato on the inside. The onion rings seemed ok. Not my preferred ring style but I won't knock them for that. I just prefer a tempura ring. The malts were great and made to order. All around worth the stop. A great bridge between Fast food and real gourmet burgers. Easier on the pocket book but better than a drive through.”
