“Spiffy little market. Well, maybe not so little but not a supermarket. It serves a community that is almost isolated and so they try to stock everything you might need. And they do a good job! Stuffed with items, some you didn't know about but now can't live without. Prices are higher than a Safeway, that's the cost of serving a remote community. Parking is good. But now let's talk about the bakery! That alone is a destination. Plan a day in the gym to counter the effects of what you will eat there. And nearby in the store is a Starbucks outlet to help you with your baked goods. This place serves the locals and wouldn't be a destination for someone another town, but if you find yourself heading up to Carefree do drop in and poke around.”

“It's a grocery store. If that's what you're looking for than you'll be happy. The employees are kind for the most part, but like anywhere there's always someone who can be difficult. Sometimes, I feel the pressure of asking the baggers to put my groceries back in my buggy instead of them taking out, but for the most part it's not so bad. I usually find what I'm looking for and I love the convenience of have a grocery store on base. My favorite thing are their square bags. They aren't a bad price, they're sturdy, and come in all kinds of designs throughout the year for holidays and such. Their food isn't bad either. The muffins are yummy. The sushi is basically, for the most part, fancy California rolls, still delicious. The deli subs are yummy, too. The employees over in the deli/bakery/sushi are always pleasant. People usually complain about the produce and meat section, but let's be real, it is what it is. Is it the best, no. Is it the worst, also no. But it's affordable, so there's that.”

“We are from Minnesota staying at the Cape Charles KOA. After a long drive we decided to head out as a family of 9 to the Food Lion to restock the RV. Iris was our cashier and she is the friendliest, most positive woman I have met in a long time. Her joy was contagious. We didn’t notice her lane was closed and she gladly welcomed us to stay in her line. Another gentlemen got behind us and we politely said she’s closed and she said please stay it’s okay.
